This weekend is the NOSA double header at the Dacotah Speedway. Previous years has generated some solid car counts, hopefully this year will be similar to previous years with 24 plus cars each night. Are any of the south dakota or minnesota guys planning on coming over? The weather looks great for a weekend of sprint car racing!
Previous winners:
2020: Branden Mullen, Bob Martin
2019: Mark Dobmeier, Wade Nygaard
2018: Mark Dobmeier, Wade Nygaard
2017: Ty Hanten (CAOS Sprints)

CAOS sprints?

It was the Canada-America (CanAm) Outlaw Sprints. They don't exist anymore to my knowledge.

Thanks. That explains why the name Ty Hanten didn't ring a bell.

WOW what a weekend of racing! Night 1 saw Brendan Mullen holding off Mark Dobbmeier and a healthy field of cars. While night two saw Mark Dobbemeier taking the victory with a last corner pass and a drag race to the finish line! With the night 2 win Dobbmeier takes the title of Governor's Cup Overall champion! This race and the IMCA modified feature that saw the top 3 slice and dice lapped traffic for over 15 laps straight had the crowd in a frenzy!
Pros/Cons:
Pros
-The night two feature was insane! The lapped traffic really came into play and hindered both Dobbmeier and Mullen.
- I'm not sure about other tracks but Dacotah Speedway goes above and beyond to give the sprint cars an excellent track to work with. They farmed the the track for qualifying, heats, and for the feature.
-The NOSA group as a whole are great to work with.
-They ran qualifying instead of just doing the pill draw.
Cons
-Brendan Mullen jumps a lot of starts when he is on the front row...this is from watching three NOSA races in the past two weeks and it's clear from what I have seen that he jumps a lot of starts and is given an extreme amount of leway on his starts. It was interesting to hear Dobmeier call him out on that but it's all good.
Overall it was a very fun weekend of sprint car racing for our area which is very deprived of it.
