I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on here but wondered what anyone else thought of Kyle's interview on CBS morning show?

I believe it to be the next check off the list to be reinstated to NASCAR.

Hmm, heard that term A LOT in some Portland riot videos. Why not ask them why its ok to use as endearment is some circles? And I mean heard it hundreds of times not just some slip up.

Good luck Larson when you get back to NASCAR, going to miss the butt kicking you put on the dirt world this summer.

Not to start it over again... (and again, and again..) but if he would have went out and protested in the streets and burnt down police cars and businesses.... would this have happened to him?   (Neither of the actions were deemed "illegal."wink  One of the actions was "righteous" and one was not.

Unfortunately he was the stool pigeon on this one.  Again, don't want to start it over, we all know as well as he does he should have been reprimanded but ... ugh.... never mind.  Beating a dead horse . Again.

James Brown the sportscaster that interviewed him said he deserved a 2nd chance and was the real deal. None of that is accidental, it's all part of the PR deal. In a few weeks and maybe after a couple more of these, he'll be reinstated. Probably after the election barring some outlet making a big deal out of it.

I am real interested in his statement that he said the N word to his spotter, who is also white, that he had raced with in Australia and their group had "used the word casually, as a greeting." Really ?  He (Larson) didn't say it as a greeting to his friend ! The spotter didn't answer him and he then called him the N word because he wasn't happy that he didn't get an immediate response from the spotter. As soon as the spoter heard that he said it went out on the air and they all heard it, Larson said Yikes or something like that. I have no way of knowing if that is indeed used in Australia as a greeting, but if it isn't, sounds like a lame excuse to me and if I were an Australian, I would be offended.

I believe Larson's explanation was it was used in a group he was hanging with in Australia for a long period of time.  I don't believe he implied Australians all casually use it as a greeting.  I never heard that.

OK, I'm not gonna get into this again

However I don't think you know what "stool pigeon" means... it means a fink, rat, tattletale, squealer

I think the words you're looking for might be "scapegoat" or "sacrificial lamb"

I'm amazed he was on network TV, wish i had known about it... wonder if its on Youtube?

If this PR comeback tour is successful it will be the worst thing to happen to dirt track racing since the American pit lizard discovered Instagram.

Well you got pretty much just the part where Larson said the N word right

I felt it was a genuine sincere interview on all access. James Brown did a good job asking the questions & Kyle gave honest, sincere answers. It came off as someone who was sorry & disappointed that he said it because he shouldn't have, not because he got caught and lost his job. I know some will question the timing of everything but that will be questioned no matter what. Too soon it would have been "well how much could you have possibly learned in that short amount of time," too long then perhaps will think "you just waited for people to forget."

No matter what, their will be people who will hate him for it and he understands that & holds no ill will towards those people. A lot of people will put their own prejudices & political affiliated spin on it based on current events but the fact of the matter is what he said was wrong and people who did business with Kyle Larson had to decide whether they wanted to continue to do so. A lot decided not to and that was their choice. He put himself in that position, not politics not anything else. Luckily his actions, more so off the track, seem to have proven to some that he is worthy of a 2nd chance. I just hope that he knows he will be under a microscope for a while and a 3rd chance may not happen, but I think he had proven the type of person he is. Which is good

What I was wanting to see is who all would respond with "he deserves a 2nd chance"...

Now, google something to the likes of "accused rapist gets 2nd chance" .. there are pages...(not just of rapists before all the rapists turn on me.. there are armed robbers, hit and run drivers, etc.)

How is it comparable?

JJR fan, the last sentence is my words and the rest is verbatum from the interview transcript. I listed the You tube and Cbs e access sites as they were, not sure what else you are thinking !

Good interview. I'm glad they gave him a chance to explain himself & I'm glad he's working for that minority youth racing deal in Philly.

But I still wish he'd stay on dirt..... wink
