Please note: This is NOT a thread about the Covid-19 virus. Please don't make it into one. If you want to rehash that all over again, please join any of the other dozen Covid-19 threads already in progress.
Terry-Thank you!
I hope the Park Jefferson race was a success. How this all shakes out might provide a template for how racing will be done in the future. With that being said, what would it take to have a PPV race at a racy, well-lit bullring up at Brandon?

He did a very nice job putting it together and keeping it on schedule in light of the........................oops---almost mentioned it.
We need more of this going on right now. I like how it was stated on Facebook page for everyone to be responsible---the world is watching. I think they did a great job of moving some future races forward.

Hope Terry made enough or did not lose money on this race. He could do nothing about Speedshift problems and once we got that taken care of races were good. Had a strange ending, but that is racing. Hope FRC can do this again and broadcaster can prevent the problem they had. Even better would be if this bug went away.

Again huge thanks to Terry for showing the racing world how to have a race during this COVID mess.
Cherokee Speedway having a $10,000 to win super late model race this Saturday, no fans, on PPV.
Will probably have a field as diverse as the Park Jeff 410 field.
I am guessing promoters wouldn't be as willing to do this if Terry hadn't taken the lead and showed them it can work.

Giving credit where credit is due>> When Chuck Brennan sunk all the money into fixing up Husets Speedway, it really looked like the intent was to sell PPV nationwide of weekly programs & big specials. I guess I was wrong, as that never materialized.
What he has though, is a compact, well-lit, racy little track that is set up to do some awesome PPV racing. Since the whole rest of the sports world is watching how this unfolds, maybe there's a source of advertising no one has considered yet- "Winner of your first heat, sponsored by Major League Baseball is the #101 of Chuck McGilvrey. Now lining up for your second heat, sponsored by The National Football League.... It's not as crazy as you think. What to do with that downtime races? Clips from "Best of" baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, women's beach volleyball!
There's potential there. Terry and Chuck know each other. Chuck needs the exposure, Terry has the experience to make this work, the world needs sprint car racing.

I have no idea what you are trying to say. Wait, are you trying to say you think professional sports leagues would advertise with a dirt track in Brandon, SD? And the track would show clips between racing action or the PPV would show those? Ok then. Make me what your drinking....I need one. Is it Friday yet?

Honest to God I heard this while flipping through channels on Sirius Radio: "Well, with the corona virus shutting down the whole league, there's not really much to talk about. At the top of the hour we'll have a panel discussion on that topic".

"The NFL 2nd heat", Murphy did you steal my stash of weed and Captain Morgan again?
In the Midco Sports show Terry McCarl told Jay Elsen to keep his eyes open there may be an announcement shortly.
With 48 410 teams at Knoxville next Friday one would think a decent amount of them would be open to a race Saturday but Park Jefferson is out they are running their IMCA mod and stock car nationals next Fri-Sat.
Park Jefferson also offered the track to the WoO rent free for a sprint or late model show.
Could be some more good races in our immediate future in SD.

Who knew Captain Morgan smoked weed?
I'm tellin' ya, it's not as crazy as it sounds. Right now the WoO is trying to figure out how to get racing jump-started and work towards the day when they are 100% back in the saddle. The NFL, etc. is doing....nothing. And those major league stick and ball sports have a LOT more money. As such, they also have a lot more to lose if they don't move forward and some of their fan base loses interest, or just plain gives up. Anybody want to pay to watch i-football? Nope.
An interesting development is that the WoO appears to be running the Knoxville race, so it's a WoO race, not a Knoxville Raceway presents the WoO race. Something like this would make it easier for the WoO to rent a track from somebody on the naughty list (like Chuck @ Husets) or somebody on the nice (list like Todd @ Jackson).
