Fox picked up World of Outlaws iRacing and will air a race tomorrow night on FS1. Many of us have FS1 as part of our channel package. This was a great idea and a great opportunity to promote the sport and make new fans.

I can't wait! Only downfall this week, they are not showing the heats or other mains-----only feature and then Late Model feature. Must be doing all qualifying before airing? Too bad on that part of it.................had a driver climb from the E or D main all the way to about 10th in the A last week.
I'll take it though.

Not showing the heats are other mains? Is Dirtvision an option to see this part?

Love how the white #99 car kept disappearing and reappearing in the early part of the Late Model race. So realistic!
That's why I would never pay to watch a video game race.

Seriously? Finally we had something as a dirt racing community to come together over and forget about this shit for an hour, and all you can do is complain?
I loved it. Thanks to everyone involved for putting that on. I hope they do it again soon.
Best part of the show.....hearing Johnny Gibson 4-wide call....twice. Gave me goosebumps!
Well done!

That was weird. It would dissapear while running up front. I wonder if they could see it from inside the other cars, I mean sims. It's entertaing but I will probably lose interest after a while.

The funny thing about this is that some people take video games so seriously that they'll argue about it. Get a grip on reality.

From the other racing games I've played, when things like this happens it's due to their internet connection.
I get why you wouldn't want to watch this, and the beautiful thing about it is, you don't have to. Change the channel if you don't like it.

I can kind of relate to this lol. This is not what I would consider a video game. This is more of a simulation. If you want to be competitive, you're not going to just pick it up and be fast right away. Just like the real thing, if you want to be competitive, it takes a lot of time.

I gave it a chance last night, meh, it was fine. It's like going to one of those drive-thru peep shows in Las Vegas.
I need the real thing.

I'm not sure if they did much in the way of heats last night (I know they did warmups and maybe time trialing), but I think last night was by invitation. Paul McMahon said on Twitter that he hadn't been invited. Probably based on a combination of either notoriety (ratings) or past success in Iracing, so it wouldn't look like to much of a $h!tshow with cautions and such.

The funny thing about the simulator is that there are simulator champions who can beat the best drivers in the business because they're good at the game. Case in point Scott Bloomquist couldn't get out of his own way last night. Some would say it's because he couldn't pull a fast one with tires in the game but that's a whole other subject. Seriously though, there are people who excel on the game that would be lost in a real race just like some of the real drivers struggled with the game. The reality of the g forces, engine noise and knowing that if you hit the wall it's going to hurt and real setup knowledge are what separate the driver's from the game players.

I usually just like to keep up with the comments, but I do have a little experience with the simulators and the real thing (although havent' been in a sprint car since early 90's, still run late models). The 'games' are extremely fun and a benefit with hand-eye cordination, but not a indicator of driving ability....To much feel in the seat/air moving/ noise, unless you go to the million dollars sims you are not going to get that. Still think it is a plus and glad to see my buddy Trent Ivey at the front (he can wheel a real late model as well).

I know their trying to come up with something to give us some racing and Im grateful but man they got get this IRacing thing fixed quick. Its awful. The leaderboard takes up a third of screen and they go to in-car camera for three minutes mid pack and mean while the leaders are changing three times. I acknowledge there trying but lets fine tune please!

I know that it's technically a simulator and not a video game but I like to refer to it as a video game and watch the smoke rising from fingertips as the gaming fans give me hell. The reality is that it's very realistic and I have watched every race that I have access to. I have watched both NASCAR races and the Outlaws on FS1 and last night USAC on Floracing. It is what it is, a temporary diversion that all but the most hard core racing/gaming enthusiasts may lose interest in as time goes on. I got scolded on social media for saying I can take it or leave it so some of the younger folks who grew up with video games are pretty vocal in their support of this deal. It's just another thing to watch on television when all is said and done and everyone will forget about it soon after real racing returns.
