Was a snoozer for most of the night too, except for Madsen  backing up in the dash and a few of passes in the A when the track finally widened a bit.   Can’t imagine why we would rather have a slicker racier track.  Macri is going to be one to beat locally next year.

Yes, it was fast.  It should be fast it is a race and all.  It is more the woo format than anything else.....starting heads up makes for boring racing in the heats always has and always will....sorry Jonny G.  I know you are the one that came up with the woo format.  Your track should be it's raciest in the feature not in the heats.

The cars should be faster than 20+ seconds a lap too!!  Just ask Brian Brown.....he is right when hes said, we need the WATER TRUCK to DUMP some WATER on the track so it can be racey in the feature again today! Brian doesn't like those 20 second + laps and I couldn't agree more with him!!  Remember the feature last year for the woo.  Brian set the new track record and the feature there was passing all over the track!  It was a daylight show too!!

Like Black Jack said the track was great for the feature. It really started coming in during the two dashes and that is when you want your track to start coming in and gee I think they had some passing in the dashes too.   The feature is what I go to see....nobody remembers who wins the heats.  I know I don't!!  It had multiple grooves in the feature that is all you can ask for and it was super fast.

AWESOME! - is the only word I can use for that feature!  Fast with multiple grooves....not a slip and slide all night long like it normally is at the Port.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Yes, because a super fast, locked down race track with little passing is soooooo much better than a slick track with tons of passing and slower lap times.  Like you said, it's a race.  There is supposed to be passing in a race and if the track is slick today there will be passing, if not it will be wet and locked down.  Brown likes the wet track because he sucks on slick tracks. Ask a driver like, I don't know, Lance Dewease how he feels about a slick track.  He'll say hell yeah, bring it on.  So putting your entire argument on Brown's comments holds no water, lol.  Almost every driver talked about the track being too fast, locked down and with no passing. Hmmm, wonder why.  But once again, track prep guru Strawser, who likely watched online, knows it all.

Now that is what the Speed Palace should be like every week!  Fast and great racing in the feature!  No slip and slide ice skating rink last night.  People upset because it was just to fast for the 69K!!!  At least he didn't have to complain about the double file restarts hurting him, LOL.  Great to witness a FORD back in victory lane!!!

Couldn't agree more, should be a much racier surface today if they can get it in before the rain.

Format had nothing to do with it. Line the cars up any way with the quality of field there & the same type of racing happens with a front row winner. Cars only off a couple of tenths on a heavy track means you won't see too much racing upfront. But yay, the cars were fast. Race was good but not as good as other features I have seen from Port this year. But whatever, doesn't mean I won't stop watching or over use exclamation points & all cap letters on a message board.

You should just leave Pa. & go to Bonneville Salt Flats. Incredible speed, zero passing! wink

Brown's opinion holds just as much water as Lance's. And right there is why the track prep guy should just prep the damn track how he thinks it needs to be done for the weather, format and expected car count and not listen to all the noise from the drivers. The fact is there is no right, wrong, best or worst way to prep a track within the obvious parameters of making sure it's smooth and it isn't so wet or so dry that it can't be raced on. Lance drives the 69K. Of course he wants a slick track......who the hell wouldn't if they were driving that car? A slick track dramatically enhances his chances of winning. Brian Brown has a Charlie Garrett engine. Why wouldn't he want the track to be hammer down fast with a bullet like that under the hood? Every driver and team has their strengths and weaknesses and most of them are gonna lobby for what they like relentlessly if they think there's a chance they might get it. If you do what 1 driver wants you to do, you're going to piss another one off who wants it their way. Guys like Steve Stimely & Fred Putney know what they're doing & 90% of the time, they do it well. They can work magic with a grader just like Lance & Brownie can work magic with a sprint car. I miss the days when drivers just showed up and adjusted their driving and set ups to meet whatever demands the track gave them that night. This shit of some of these drivers thinking the track should be how they want it all the time and then throwing a hissy fit on Twitter when it isn't is getting old. Like Mr. Hodnett always said: it's the same for everyone.

Going back to the original post, with all the success the All Stars have had this year in PA combined with the WoO success, this has to be the worst year the Posse has had against outsiders in many years.
