We have decided to upgrade the PA or sound system at Brill Motor Speedway. If anyone knows anyone in the sound business please have them contact me at [email protected] or call my cell 405-833-2951. Would prefer to buy from someone who is a racer or racing friendly. Any and all help will be appreciated.

One thing that I have run acrossed is that some tracks have contacts with area high schools. There are times when those schools upgrade their sound system (for band, pep ralleys, sporting events) and the schools get rid of them. Might keep your eye out on something like that. The Midwest City High School baseball team has some big speakers that they set outside the press box and hook up before every game and then when the game is over we unplug them and put them in the press box. No bigger than the grandstands are at Meeker that would work just fine. Enid has big speakers set up too but not sure if they unhook them after every race or leave them out. Enids grandstands are fairly big but those two speakers really do the trick. Heck Dogwater (here on tidbits) think they work just a little bit too well.
A thought if you go that route is to hook you up a heavey enough bracket at the top end of each grandstand and run your wires behind the backing too each bracket, then put up your speakers that way.
Just a thought instead of going through the trouble of rewiring and climbing poles and the sort.

Thanks for the suggestions David, I had thought about the big concert type speakers, but surely wouldn't want to leave them out in the weather, or where they might be too easy to steal, so the portable speaker idea is great. I'm not saying our old system is antique, but I think the amp was built around 1950 something. LOL. The high school idea is great too, because while I haven't been given a budget limit for this project, I know we want to do it economically. Anybody else got any ideas???
