Heads up.

When you advertise something from 9 to 5, ya might want to stick around til 5.

Someone might drive 60 miles to the swap meet to find it torn down at 2.

If you're going to tear down early and hang out later or whatever, you might want to put

that in the ad or flyer. Geez. If these things are just for a special group that doesn't follow the

published schedule, please mention that in any postings or flyers and we'll just stay away, which will be

case with me in the future. I know ya'll probably don't give a hoot, so just take it for what it's worth.

Sorry for the inconvience , But we as a group cannot tell people NO you may not load your stuff up and leave until a certain time ! The scedule only gave the time that the building would be open for operation . People can come and go as they please , this is america you know ! ......Shawn jorski ORA Board member

anyways any racer knows the good stuff goes early at a swap meet !

BUT there those locally and out of town that may not be able to get away 'til afternoon as to why they may show up later. Plus, I thought the good deals were always at the end of the day.

Was it a good turnout? I tried to make it but got tied up. Even though I don't race anymore I still appreciate what the booster club does for the drivers.

Thanks David. I've been on this board since I became a race fan a couple years ago and trying to get a straight topic going or get straight answers is pretty tough I know. The swap meet thing is history; we gave it a shot, tried to be there in the afternoon and they were all gone. Like Shawn J. says, this is America where you go where you want when you want, and by gosh they did, so whatever. I'll just leave that group of racers or whoever they are alone and they can do what they want when they want even though they advertise a time commitment. That's fine for them. For people thinking of getting started in racing stuff like that makes it pretty tough if you don't know it's okay to leave five hours early. And when questions are asked on the board about starting out in racing you get zero replies (I've done this twice in the past two years with zero replies). My point is, David you run a good board and keep a good eye on things here... it's just that lots of members aren't too fan friendly unless you already know a whole bunch of stuff about racing. But, that's ok... I'm sure there's some racers here that would love it for beginners to show up with no training or help and wreck a few times or hurt themselves or someone, and would be amused. I was hoping that finding out about racing would be easy and getting to know the people would be easy, but we (me and some friends) are finding that's not quite the case. But again David you run a good board, and thanks. I know, virtually no one on the board gives a hoot about someone trying to start out or talking about entry level cars, so this post will get read five times then get shuffled down to the cellar, and that's fine, but I just had to rant. I know a decent conversation about this would take a miracle, so, here's to hoping that might happen one of these days.

Hey Tekboy, my red lettered comment wasn't directed at you at all. Just kind of summing up the way I have felt about where threads and conversations have gone here lately. I want people like you to get on here and ask questions and get the answers that you need. EVERYBODY needs to realize not everybody that posts is a multi-track champion like they all are, there are those with questions and also some comments and people are intitled too that.

I do hope you get questions answered and hope you are helped out when you needed.
