Wait just one Cotton Picking Minute!!! Like someone else commented to your reply, generally ya have you’re head on straight and are logical and I can see where you have every right to be dissatisfied, dissappointed, mad and indifferent. That’s fine and dandy. But ya lost me in your second and third sentence of this reply. Lance, Danny, Anthony and Ryan, to quote you, are the majority of the Posse? Now I could care less about the Posse rivalry, I live in South Dakota. They’ve produced some damn good racers of the past and current , some of the best if I say so. I’ve just never gotten into that is versus them deal, not my thing. But I thought, from what I’ve seen here and elsewhere that even if ya took a shit in Pennsylvania at one point in your career, that if ya did good some 15 odd years later and Kicked the WoO’s ass at a race at Calistoga in Cali you could be considered Posse and now you are telling me four damn drivers are the majority of the famed Posse! If four are the majority that means, by definition, they are more than 50% of the Posse so I. It’s entirety the entire group contains no more than 7 total racers. By those numbers ya need the All Stars or WoO there every single week just to have a race. If ya are a racer in Pennsylvania and weren’t named in W2’s or my post I guess you are homeless. Feel free to move to South Dakota as a certain Chucky has all but killed 410 racing in our fine state and we will Welcome you with open arms.
please take my response as mere sarcasm and joshing about as it’s intended. I think we all need to pause and breath a little. A little laughter wouldn’t hurt either.

I've never been one of those guys who claims everyone to be posse. I've argued with Posse fans who said Shaffer is posse (he's not). By definition a driver is Posse if he races weekly in PA. Brent Marks, Logan, Jacob, Brock, G-Mac are not posse. I root for them because they are from PA, but they aren't Posse drivers. Posse drivers are the guys who race here in PA weekly.

No problemo, like I stated, I was just fooling about, picking a little bit. I also see what ya mean about those “having a legiti shot”. Also, I was generalizing , albeit a bit mockingly, about some claiming so many to be Posse. Like I said, I really have no stake in the game of that beings where I’m located in the country and I’m just happy to see a WoO show or two a year due to my location and, lately the area becoming a sprint desert in SD. As I stated, I was just trying to give a half hearted effort of lightening a very tense mood today following last nights events at the ASCoC race.

I walked out lap one, would do it again if given the chance. I am happy I did it, and happy to have been walking out with about 50% of the fans at the track. I slept great last night knowing that I didn't miss anything that was remotely worth watching, and I'll continue to sleep great knowing ASCOC won't get another dime from me as long as the current staff is in place. Way too much else to spend my time and money on these days than to deal with stuff like that. I go to about 70-80 races a year, now I'll go to 60-70, skip the all stars and enjoy some time away from racing.
|
Oh please not sure what race you were at 50% walked out haha be lucky if it was 2 % and you missed a pretty good race. leaving was stupid. who exactly do you think you leaving hurt? it wasnt concessions they were already out of everything trying to sell what they had at half price but they couldnt work the cash register or subtract.Only thing you hurt by your crying and whining was the snyder family who was just trying to have a race remebering justin. The races will go on without you and the 2% of people who would pay for a hooker and not get laid. so again who exactly did you hurt by leaving umm they had all the money you were gonna spend anyway the other 98% of fans didnt care if you left pretty sure the drivers all got paid your leaving affected well nobody great protest!

in this instance i think sending the offending cars to the rear for the restart would have been a suitable penalty, and per the rule it would have been allowable as the end of the rule in question states "or any other action deemed appropriate be All Star Officials."
|
Exactly.
Of course "rules are rules", but let the punishment fit the crime. Allstars need fans' $$$ to survive, drivers are risking their lives & owners are spending small fortunes.
Over enforcement wrecked it for everyone... who gained?
Kinda like good ole Barney Fife getting carried away with his "Lawman" role....

It’s Knoxville’s fault forgiving Donny 10 minutes to work on his car. That was sarcasm. If this was at WG during the open and schatz got dqd for a broken rule, there would be parades and no one would be bitching. But it affected mainly Pa drivers so there is a huge uproar. JMO. Tony said they’ll fix it , let em fix it. It’s not the end of the world

I wasn't there, I didn't see it online and I have to be honest, I didn't read all the replies. But from what I'm reading people think it's a stupid rule or was no big deal. But a rule is a rule, I don't care how you slice it. If they were told they could not leave that area and they did, whether it's a big deal or not, it's still breaking the rules. If a person on house arrest decides to run to Wal mart quick, is it a big deal? No, I don't think anyone thinks going to Wal Mart is a big deal but if you're on house arrest, it could land you in jail, it doesn't matter what your intent was or how big of a deal it is, the rule is you can't leave a certain area. Also for the people blaming the track for not fully explaining the rule and the ramifications, why didn't those drivers and teams ask more questions if they didn't understand?

Well, this rule just lost the All Stars fans and possibly some cars when they come back to PA. You a right problem is solved. I know there are a lot of people that have bought there last ticket for them.....I am one of them. So if they want to continue to lose fans over the dumbest rule ever go right ahead.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Rico - 9 wins
Donny - 0 wins That is right the big fat zero!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

I'm proud of the Posse fans, they were so dissapointed in their own local teams blatant cheating that they all got up and walked out with their heads down.
I always knew they had integrity.

They did screw me out of $22. I never would of gone in the first place if Lance, Danny, Anthony and Ryan were not there. That is the majority of the PA Posse, and certainly the best two. So I didnt get to watch the RACE I paid to watch, instead the All Stars tried to force some bullshit joke of a "race" (sort of how the wwe is "wrestling" ) on the fans and hundreds of them left. I do hope those fans remember that in a few weeks when they are deciding whether to support the bullshit that is the ASCOC, but whether they do or not it wont change the fact that I wont be there.
I had been an All Star supporter, you can look back in my posts to confirm if you care to. But what I witnessed last night was the single biggest piece of bullsit I've ever seen at a race track. The Outlaw format sucks, the teams have huge budgets that dwarf the PA teams, and the crowds are nuts but one thing you can be sure of is that they dont do stuff like that. I prefer our weekly shows, but I'll go to an Outlaw show if it's in town but after last night I'll find something else to do when the All Stars are here. Like I said before, here in PA I can go to 70 races a year without ever even considering supporting one of those bullshit shows.

^^^Well in a few weeks the All-stars are coming back to PA and your local tracks will pay the sanctioning fees. So by boycotting you are only hurting your local tracks. You notice this drama between locals and sanctioning bodies like ASCoC/WoO only exists in PA? Bunch of fucking crybabies, simple as that.

As explained previously:
Boycotting the series will cause attendance to be lower which would be the only way a track would consider dropping the ASCOC sanction. In reality the crowd at both races will be fine, even if everyone who was at Baps (not likely) didnt go to Port they would still have a good crowd.
Let's be honest if this had been Knoxville and they DQed Brian Brown, Austin Mccarl, Terry Mccarl, and Kerry Madsen on lap one the crowd would have been just as rowdy. It was bullshit plain and simple.

Staying in the box too long can get you on the 18 year payment plan.

That is not what I call cheating or lack of integrity. It is plain and simple the dumbest rule I have ever seen.
Out of a box? Where in the world did they ever come up with this one would dq a driver. Wow......they really don't want to see the stands packed when the Allstars come back. That is what this rule is all about....the allstars lost a lot of fans Sunday night.

Congratultions - I hope you buy two tickets to each one. That way the attendance is even better at the Ohio shows and maye the ASCOC will stay there instead of coming to PA to ruin races here.
As I said previously, it would of been bullshit no matter who got DQed, I bitched about it with Larson too. But you are right I wouldn't have got up and left if it had been All Stars because I was there to see my favorite drivers, but I would still be on here talking about what a shit show it was no matter who got DQed because I want to see a race. The Posse/ASCOC/Outlaws rivalry is good because of the talent on all sides. When you remove one side you take away from the race overall.
|
Don't worry, I won't have to buy two tickets. Attica & Wayne County usually have good enough attendance without needing people doubling up on ticket purchases. Now a few of us may end up getting in the car and going to Port Royal next weekend to help compensate for all of the offended people who choose to stay away from a perfectly good race. May not make a dent but every little bit helps
And they didn't ruin the race and they did not remove one side away, the one side removed themselves......from the coned box. So their cars were removed from the track. Granted, yes maybe too harsh of a punishment but a consistent one. But now it sounds like it will be addressed and changed so everything is good for me and others.

Yeah that is why everyone walked out. If they want to treat all of the crew members like cattle they should start branding them too that way at least they will know for sure who belongs to which crew. Or I guess they can stick to their current method of checking the drivers birth certificate, if its from Pennsylvania - disqualified.

I'm glad you are coming to Pennsylvania, make sure to support all the sponsors of the drivers while you are here. It's their only likely source of income since they will probably be disqualified by the All Stars. I highly recommend Sandoes.
I'll give you an updated list of races I'm avoiding when I get back from the trip I'm taking in place of going to the 50, that way you can take my place at all of them.
Thanks again!
Jeff.

WOW some of you are really butt hurt about this. I remember a Narc race, in the 80s, where they bent over backwards for Brent Kaeding. Fans were pissed. Alot of em bitched and moaned, said theyd never return. I was there the next night, as were alot of other people. And it was great race. Whyd I go back? Because people deserve 2nd chances. Just like the All Stars do. Tony said theyd get this straightened out and they will. But hey all you haters keep on hating. I cant wait for my first trip to PA for the All Stars next year.
