Josh Schneiderman – Tuning Up for Nationals

Dallas, TX (August 1, 2019) – Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports took on the All Stars Circuit of Champions twice last weekend, taking home an 11th at Knoxville, before heading back close to home and making the show Sunday at 34 Raceway. Next on tap is the Capitani Classic this Sunday night, as the team will have their last chance to get on the track at the famed half-mile before the Knoxville Nationals!

“The Professor” got the weekend started on Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway by laying down a solid qualifying time and racing his way into one of the night’s dashes. “We’ve been qualifying so much better this year than we did last year, but hadn’t been racing quite as well,” said Schneiderman. “Saturday we clocked a lap that was good enough to get us in the invert and, knowing the format, I settled in behind Davey [Heskin] since 2nd would put us in the dash.”

The dash redraw would leave Josh starting fourth and he would finish in the same position, setting him up to start the A-main on the inside of the fourth row. “The car felt really good in both the heat race and in the dash,” said Josh. “We were running good and it was great to put ourselves in such a great spot for the feature.”

Schneiderman would run solid in the top ten most of the A-main, but being a bit late to make a move cost the Deuce team a top ten, as they ended the night 11th. “We were solid when we got to the A-main, but I just stayed on the bottom a bit too long in turns three and four,” said Josh. “The bottom went away some and I should have got up on the cushion, which would have secured us a top ten, but 11th is still a great run for us against that stout of a field.”

Sunday night at 34 Raceway didn’t go quite as smoothly for the Schneiderman in his Land Pride/World of Wheels #49, starting with a tough go in qualifying. “I was really disappointed after qualifying on Sunday,” said Josh. “We live so close to 34, but we only get to race there a few times a year and usually only once or twice in the 410. On our first qualifying lap I hit a rut in turns one and two, then missed the cushion in three and four, which ended up messing up our 2nd lap.”

Having to race his way into a transfer position, Schneiderman would come through and lock himself into the night’s A-main. However, the night would come to an early end for the Deuce team and a finish of 23rd. “The track was a bit one lane in the feature, since the cushion was pretty strong,” said Josh. “We were riding around where we started basically, so when I noticed the track was starting to take rubber, I decided to save our equipment and pull in early.”

“The Professor” and the Deuce Motorsports team will be using this Sunday’s Capitani Classic at the Knoxville Raceway as their final tune-up for next week’s Knoxville Nationals!
