He got pounded on Saturday night at Lincoln while leading with one of the worst slide jobs of the year and hasn't said a negative word yet.  He wins tonight at Lincoln and shrugs and says 'that's racing', still not a negative word, he has a new fan here.  I like Double D a bunch and it was just a mistake but an expensive one for Monteiths team that's for sure.  Alll in all not a great night of racing tonight which surprised me, boring heats nothing happened in the B and the A was mediocre at best, surprising for Lincoln my favorite PA track....

What the Hell is a Submit Button???????

Monteith is a pretty humble, low key kind of guy. I like DD too but that was a bonehead move. Just a mistake though, nobody wants to risk taking themselves out.

Yep, Monteith was cool about it. In the post race interview, car owner seemed more pissed off....

Brian was plenty pissed off and super motivated to win. Mission accomplished. He's just not the kind of guy to go on Twitter and say a bunch of stupid shit. He let's the results do the talking. The 21 team is first class all the way. We're lucky to have a guy like Jerry Parrish who gives so much to our sport on the local level.

I can't name a driver who doesn't come off as a total class act.  Even the Outlaw drivers were impressive.  I was telling everyone after we went to NASCAR at Pocono that we wasted our money up there.  They're going to struggle until they realize they're not above the fans.

I'm a huge DD fan and I agree that slider was right up there with some of the worst this season (Macri/Haas last week at Lincoln was pretty bad as well, but the worst one IMO was the Carl Bowser/Mike Wagner slider a week ago at Port). I'm sure Danny realized he Fked up about as soon as he turned down. Tore up some cars, but the shoe was on the other foot last year when they destroyed each others cars and I don't really think Danny said much negative afterward. They are big time rivals, but I think they respect each other and I'm sure Monteith realizes that DD does not race him dirty weekly and it was a mistake and Danny realized the same last week. Not to agree with you more than once in a post but I also felt the track left a little to be desired especially with how racy it has been the last three shows. Hopefully Port can put on some great shows to finish off Speedweek and maybe we will get lucky and see good tracks at Hagerstown and WG as well. The piints are staying pretty interesting but all Wolfe needs is one big night and he can blow it open I think.

Thanks,

Jeff.

I like Danny as well, says what he thinks, good sense of humor and competes every time he's strapped in, my kinda guy!

I just didn't know a whole lot about Brian but dang he was humble in victory and handled the bad slider with class, much better than I ever could of.  As I said in my original post he has a new fan, haven't bought a shirt in years and years but his would be the next one I buy!

I hope we see the visitors at Port Royal but I fear there won't be many there from parts unknown....

I have run into my fair share of World of Outlaw (and some other "true" Outlaw) drivers that don't come off as a total class act.  However, your assessment is correct.  The percentage of classy 410 drivers to non-classy far exceeds the percentage in NASCAR.

NASCAR, and their drivers, will never get it.

I went to my last NASCAR race in the late 90's, early 2000's at Michigan.  We watched a line form around Rusty's Miller Lite souvenir trailer all morning.  People were standing in line for hours on end.  We walk by a couple of hours later and Rusty is signing autographs----but that's all he's doing.  No eye contact.  No "thanks for coming out."  Nothing.  We watched this arrogant jerk for about 5 minutes.  He leaned over to one of his security and said "how long we got?"  Security says "your time is up if you want to be done."  Rusty say's "I'm done" and gets up.  Next in line is a man in his 30's-40's and his son about 10-12 years old.  Both are decked out in Rusty attire and carrying piles of Rusty souvenirs to be signed.  The father says "Rusty---just one more autograph please?  My son and I have been standing here for hours."  Rusty turns, with a pissed off look on his face and says "Can't you hear-----I said I'm done!"      And walks away.

Jeff Gordon was no better.  Even Chad Little was a too good to make eye contact and speak to you.  Tony Stewart was the only "human" driver I ever spoke to at a NASCAR event.  Not to say there were not other "humans" among them----but I never tried much after the Rusty experience.  So, you are spot on.

Yea the owner was more upset, he writes the checks to Kreitz Oval Track Parts on Monday for the replacements.

I can't stand Double Douche. Always been a crybaby when he doesn't win or get his way. Like a spoiled little rich kid. And no, it's not having passion. Just a whiny little b*tch. He always cries if someone races him hard but it's okay if the shoe is on the other foot. I'd rather see an outlaw beat him any day of the week. Far from a classy guy.

I don't know about Beerhill specifically and I'm not a fan of the name calling but it's become a pretty common attitude in general at least from what I can see going back even well before the recent dust up with the 21 car. At least among the fans I talk to, his act has grown increasingly old. My only issue with him is that he loves to "stir the pot" as he calls it but then when the pot boils over and burns him, he points his finger at the pot instead of himself. Hell of a driver though. One of the best I've ever seen in this area.

He is a hell of a driver that's for sure. He puts the car into some tight spots at high speeds, and as a fan, its entertaining as hell to watch. He just sometimes says some bonehead things (the stuff with Rahmer last year as one example), but hey, don't we all at some point?

You're correct. Everyone makes the occasional regretful comment. With him, it happens way too often for me personally. You mentioned the deal with Freddie last year. That in my opinion was way out of bounds given that just 2 weeks prior, we'd lost Greg Hodnett. I kinda understand the heat of the moment thing but then his response to Fred Sr's interview in AARN a couple days later didn't do him any favors and really showed his true colors. He's a hell of a wheelman and I used to be a fan but I've seen way too much ugly stuff come from him way too often and a lot of people I talk to who used to be fans feel the same way. I've heard a lot of stuff from people in the pits who have seen him act the same way behind the scenes too so it isn't just a social media persona.

Yeah, rereading my comment makes it sound like I'm downplaying his comment and that wasnt my intent. It was truly a stupefying statement by him regarding Rahmer last year.
