Hey guys,
I am looking for suggestions of sprint car/dirt track blogs/forums/newspapers/magazines/ezines, etc to submit writing to. I have been a freelance writer in the past, focused on sprint car racing - and have been published. But, took some time away from writing to focus on rodeo and the like, but, after getting burnt out on my life with my own form of dirt racing, I would like to get back to writing, and curious as to what is available these days that allow free submissions? I'm not looking to get paid, but, more just for exposure and enjoyment out of the writing. I've been around sprint cars, rather indepthly, for my entire life, and have a degree in English - so this won't be a waste of anyone's time to make suggestions. I'm all ears!

Contact Bill W. (Wright) at www.openwheel101.com He might have something for you. Write in this forum as well, let 'er fly and post it, would be nice to read something good once in a while. If you're looking to get paid you'll have to hook up with a magazine and even then it's not much. Aussie mags pay the best (or used to) for stories and pics but that was 25 years ago.....

Currently not looking to get paid, just looking to get back in the swing of things and just talk about something I'm passionate about. It's been awhile, and my confidence is kind of gone, but, we'll see what I can muster!

I'd love to take a look at some of your work and figure out a way for you to contribute to Dirt Monthly Magazine. Last January, we combined three magazines (Dirt Late Model, Dirt Modified and FlatOut) into one large one called Dirt Monthly and we are always looking for new writers and perspectives - and we pay for stories! Please contact me at [email protected] to see if we can find some angles and stories to work on. Many of the people that contribute to Hoseheads contribute to Dirt Monthly including, but not limited to, Bill Wright, Gary Costa, Danny Burton, Joe Burrage, Richard Golardi and Kevin Oldham. Hell, I started writing here, too, and owe my job for the past 20 years to Allan Holland.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to bump this back up and say a great big thanks to Justin Zoch in putting some of my stuff in the Nov/Dec issue of Dirt Monthly and continuing to work with me! This has been a wonderful opportunity, and Justin has been great to work with and help me out!

A well known midget driver died at age 99. John Hobel won the last race in 1953 with Foyt, Branson, ward and the rest of the USAC (AAA) guys. I talked to John just a few weeks before he died. He had cancer but remembered everything. Sent obit. to Sprint and Midget. They did not run the article. I guess you have to be a paid pro to get things printed. How often does a 99 yr old midget driver die.

Dirt Monthly is not the same as Sprint Car Midget. I'm sorry this driver did not get the recognition that you feel he deserved, so much is overlooked by some, but might not be overlooked by others. If you would like to private message me the information on this driver, I would be happy to send the information on to Dirt Monthly. I won't make any promises that it will get included, as that isn't my call, and January is, I am sure, already sent to publishing. But, I will make sure the information gets shared and see what might be able to be done. Again, I'm sorry you felt over looked.
