So watching the WoO highlights tonight I didn't really see anything as far as safety improvements in the turn 3 area where Jason Johnson wrecked. Now I'm not familiar with the track, nor do I want to go re watch Jason's crash video to compare last year till now. But on my 6 inch smartphone screen, I didn't see anything that looked different as far as safety improvements. Someone please enlighten me.

27 cars for a $20000 purse seems like a low turnout. Any theories why?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Try a bigger screen. You will see all the new catch fencing that was installed all the way around the track. This was done promtly last summer.

Ohio Speedweek and Knoxville. This was about normal for the Outlaw show there. Usually in the 26-30 car area. Every possible car in the area that had a chance to win that $20,000 was there so I don't know what the $20,000 has to do with filler cars. Not tyring to be a smart ass, but that's the truth.
Beaver Dam is known for an excellent show. Last night was kinda "meh" but that will happen sometimes. Especially with high winds and sun.

I missed it at first but you could definitely see the catch fence under yellows with the camera moving slower.

Someone in the crowd mentioned a "soft wall." I did not see what he was talking about or ask him to clarify. Anyone else know?

I saw it up close last night, wasn't aware of it until now but where the wall picks back up in 3 after the big tractor tires there is a black 'soft wall'. The track was scary fast the last couple years, I wonder if that was ever talked about. Kind of like how Earl Baltes wrote about track prep and the severity of accidents at Eldora in his autobiography.
