I wasn't there so maybe someone could help explain this one? Jac was disqualified for something that happened in heat #3 at Attica and decided to park it for the night. It dosen't seem like Jac to just "pack it up" unless he felt he was wronged.

refused to follow officials commands over the radio while under caution. And did not respond to officials when asked if he could hear them. Rules clearly state that you must have a working one way radio to listen to race officials.

The way I am hearing it; he did follow the command and got behind Tony on the restart, and how is it that anyone should respond when you say they must have a working one way radio?

I was there, the announcer told the crowd over the PA that the officials were trying to get Jac pull over and stop at an official. They went 3laps under yellow apparently requesting that he STOP at an official each time. They finally black flagged him and an official on the track waved for him to stop. Conversation happened and he was DQ'd.
Had he stopped the first time he would have been given his spot back. He did not proving either he did not have a radio, volume up on the radio, or the radio plugged in. Not that hard of a rule

they have one-way raceievers that drivers buy themselves. just about every track requires them so the tracks can communicate with the drivers for lineups etc.
they have batteries maybe the batteries went dead. it happens

Thanks for all the details but I am still confused and this sounds like a bunch of BS to me. This all seems really unfair that they would disqualify a car for a malfunctioning radio like that. It is not too hard to line up a restart even without radios!

It's more than line-ups, it safety issues like a wreck or stopped car. It's a rule and it applies to everyone.

It hasnt been proven it was a radio problem so blaming a battery may not be right. Not saying he was but he could have been choosing to ignore them thinking he owned the spot he was in. I'm sure if the battery was dead he would have plead his case.
It is not hard to line up a restart without the radio but when 24 guys are expecting you to use the radio deviating from the normal practice creates as much confusion. Radios are faster plus the safety issues, with the technology we have it only makes sense to me to use them.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

It's not just about getting lined up, it's also a safety issue. I have heard in drivers meetings in the past if a driver's radio malfunctions then stop at an official so they can communicate with race control & you get your spot back. I have seen other drivers get the same penalty & not just with the All Stars. Local races, the Outlaws, all of them. It's a very simple clear rule.
I like Jac & was bummed about it but it's a rule and it's equally enforced. It's not unfair he was given 3 chances and he has been doing this long enough to know what the rules are.

Thanks Nick! This is all great info and especially the part about what is said at the drivers meetings, and you are correct when you say, "he has been doing this long enough to know what the rules are." Because I wasn't there, I was just wondering if there was a little more to this story. I guess it's time to forget about it and get ready for the next race!

From writer Tom Myers; "Heat 3 gave the crowd a reason to boo as Jac Haudenschild was disqualified for not having a radio. Jac protested but eventually went back to the pits. The crowd was not very happy as boos were heard but those All Star rules are in effect for a reason. It was unclear whether the radio just was not working or that he didn’t have one. In any case that was that for Jac tonight."
