Is it my imagination or is practically every WOO race a 1 lane rubber grove? I've noticed this more and more over the past several years

I haven't noticed it being a huge problem at ALL events----at least, nothing out of the ordinary. However, I when they run a late model feature before the 410 feature it has been pretty bad.

Must be imagination because I have watched a majority of them & aside from Charlotte everything has been very competitive. I put Charlotte on their facility & last night was not a typical River Cities classic that all of us have come to know. However it seems whenever we would get a battle going for the lead with lap traffic involved a caution would come out for someone falling off the track

I don't think it's been an issue and I've seen every race this year. There was rubber down in the MOWA race in Iowa last night and the All-Star race in New York so it can be anywhere.....

Yes, much more common today than in the 80's or 90's. I have on gone to the races twice this year. The reason being the hard, black, and dry conditions before the feature rolls out. I hope promoters don't wonder why the stands aren't as full as they once were......just saying......

Could it be that the tires are rubbing off more, say, like they use the softest compound possible for the conditions that night where as before few teams had the softest option but now almost everyone does.
I dont know but perhaps it is because 24 cars are laying down rubber instead of 5 or 6 each race.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Outlaws and ASCoC are as healthy as they’ve ever been. Pack the stands every night. Don’t think promoters are worried about the stands.....just sayin......

I wouldn't say the surface has changed since the 80s/90s much but the tires have. Much softer compounds run now vs. the hard tires ran then have more to do with it.

Attention spans are getting shorter is all. A few nights ago we were talking about the race of the year, and now it is all races are one lane-rubber down. Some of the tracks do take rubber, it sucks, but it happens. It has been happening for a long time.

It is a lot less of a problem now than it was about 5-6 years ago. It still happens once in a while, but I think it's a lot better than it has been.

I guess I must have been dreaming all the times I saw a cushion about a foot deep though out the night back then. Yes, the tires have changed, but the biggest change is the dryer surfaces without a cushion......slick from bottom to top is no fun racing.

How can you say it was rubber down when the eventual race winner & other racers were passing on the top. Rubber down is when if you get out of the rubber, backwards you go. Weedsport is famous for hard, dry slick surfaces as are 95% of the NY tracks, but when 2 lanes are visably an option to me not such a bad situation.

I'd probably go back and watch the highlights from Stateline Saturday night if I were you ... a "dryer surface without a cushion" and "slick from bottom to top" is exactly what the track was like. Racing was great.
