My deepest sympathies to the entire Fegers family. They've always been great people to visit with after the races.

I really liked Lou and I am sure there are many great story's about him. He help us out on a couple occasions but was a freind to us more then anything. I also recall Mark Noble was driving a car from Lou when he won his first IMCA national if i am not mistaken.  Mark has always said nothing but good things about him.

  Rest in peace.

My condolences to the entire Fegers family. It wasnt a worthwhile year of racing if I didn't get a chance to see and talk with him a bit. He always had something to say about the state of racing, and the people who love it. My first job as a mech was in West minn at a shop that started by selling opened speed part packages returned to Lou. When I first got into racing, one sat morn my driver and our wives went out to get some parts in the fall. Lou and Marilyn were minding the store, as the bench racing proceeded the gals started talking about how the race car was always running but the wives cars were sometimes a little negligent in maintenance. Marilyn recalled how on Sun mornings sometimes she had to take a board of keys and go down the line of "cars " till one started. Seems that when she had to go to services once in a dump truck! once and after Lou got razzed by the fellows, he always had a running car for her. Lou stated that if your gonna last in a marriage or in racing make sure her car runs as good as your race car. For someone who had just lost my parents before getting into racing, this was the best fatherly advice i ever got about racing. Anytime I hear or watch a game at Soldier Field I'll always think of Lightning Lou and all those who raced that era,

godspeed Lou its tough to leave your love ones behind but many are waiting to get caught up on the otherside. God Bless you Marilyn and take care
