Lengthy article, with some of the usual sterotyping, but on the whole a pretty good piece that will get a lot of attention. Some great photos, especially the one of the stands at Port Royal.
Sprint Cars Up, Nascar Down.

Good to get publicity, for sure
Article focuses too much on NASCAR & Stewart for my taste tho, & leaves the impression that sprint cars are a Southern thing, when we all know its always been predominantly North of Mason Dixon line.
Also makes it seem like its growing wildly, when we all worry about its survival
& What do "coastal elites" have to do with anything? I guess its the NY Times....
But glad they even mention sprint cars!

The article is gonna be in Sunday's NYT magazine section.
Mostly about Smoke & NASCAR, doesn't go into much detail about sprint car racing itself
I can't see a huge migration from NASCAR to dirt by fans, since there is hardly any sprint car racing down South. Maybe packed stands at Charlotte will change that
But any new fans up North will be appreciated... just SIT DOWN, dammit!
