Interesting that USAC has the midget results posted ( http://www.usacracing.com/component/option,com_schedule/task,view/id,1534/Itemid,328/) but NOT the sprint car results as of 7am pst 10/28/07.
Did the PR guy fall asleep while working at his keyboard?

Look at those qualifying times. How big -is- that track?
Spencer only 50 points back of Tony now.

The track was rubber down before the sprint cars even hot lapped! I must admit though I was warned of that happing. There was midget hollaps and then group qualifing. Then the sprint cars came out for hotlaps and Turn 1 and Turn 3 were already blue grooved. after a couple of sprint car hotlapping sessions the whole tracn begun to take rubber. I think Sweet's fast time for the midgets was quicker than Ballou's in sprint cars. By somthing like a second and a half. The track in size is in between The Pas and Manzanita, with wide sweeping corners. The track waould be scary fast if they had "good" clay.

I am sorry to say that I am from Las Vegas and attended the race, if that is what you want to call it, Saturday night. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway did nothing less than embarrass themselves. The whole evening was a disaster!! There was an awesome car count in both divisions that saw a black track before the first qualifying lap was turned. Tire smoke was the smell of the evening. The ten lap heats were all anyones tire could take until they let go.The track announcer who claimed to have flown in from Iowa should've just stayed there. His lack of knowledge and concern more for who was in the tower with him from the drags did nothing more than piss off anyone that might've been interested in keeping times and line ups. Through all of the BS though, there was some good racing in the heats, with the exception of the 2nd heat race. Bud Keading clipped the turn four tire, and spun out bringing out a caution which left the tire on the racing surface about three feet onto the low groove. There was no where else to run but the bottom which was the only part of the track that wasn't by this point in the evevning, asphalt..I don't know where Usac found the flag man and the turn four moron(USAC official) who decided the tire was fine to leave on the track. After his spin, Bud raced his way back into a transfer position, until this time tagged the tire, sending him into a wild series of flips that left him hanging upside down on the fence, and on fire.Luckily for Bud he climbed out of the car and was ok., no thanks to the ignorance of some bad officiating. The main events were scheduled as follows, midgets 25 laps, and sprints 30 laps. The line ups were star studded. All the best were there. The midgets could only go about 10 laps before the tires started blowing. One after another, after another, after another, and did I say, after another. The race was called after 15 laps, I think because Hoosier ran out of right rears. And then the sprint main. And what a line up. It was one of the best starting line ups than any nonwing sprint fan would dream of seeing. And as the midget main went, after 10 laps, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, went the right rears. First place wasn't the place to be. Setting the pace seemed to be the doom for many drivers. the race was called after 20 laps and left many wondering how CRA would tell the speedway how far their heads were up their asses and they would never return to this place. I will stop by saying that I am sorry that I am from Las Vegas and think they should insert an outhouse in the infield of the track, because it is nothing more than a shit hole. I LOVE PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY.

backitin,
Nice to read your post. This was my first visit to LVMS and was quite surprised by the conditions and management of this beautiful facility. My wife and I were yelling at the announcers booth to move the tire in turn four after the tow truck pushed it a good six feet into the low line. We waited until 1:15AM Sunday morning to watch the main event become nothing more than a rubber burning, tire popping, lap shortened disappointment. Looking forward to getting back to PAS.
