Just how many sprint car Nationals are there in this country? IMO the word is getting way over used. Don't track owners or promoters have any imagination? What's wrong with for example...... Tri-States Sprint Car Championship or Midwest Sprint Car Championship or West Coast Sprint Car Championship or Posse VS The World Sprint Car Championship.....Quad States......and the very generic Whoever Shows Up To Race Sprint Car Championsip......there are an unlimited number of promotional avenues other than simply adding another Nationals to the list. We have four sprint car Nationals within four hours from our home. Two of those are recognized as the largest, the two at Knoxville, 410 and 360. Even though Knoxville was not the first to claim the title of Nationals. That distinction may belong to the Hutchinson Nationals, but I have not fully researched the useage of the word (if someone knows please chime in). Heaven forbid we should ever actually be visited by aliens......there would then be a rash of Universal Sprint Car Championships, whether or not the aliens even raced them.......but at least the use of Nationals would get a rest.

Well, the IMCA Sprint Racesaver Nationals had a bigger car count than any other sprint car race the last 2 years.
Maybe we should make Knoxville quit using the word Nationals.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

The fist track to establish a 305 IMCA Sprint Car Nationals is deserving of the title. Eagle Raceway has done well with that event. Of course car count is one thing......but the purse is another......IMCA Nationals Sunday night at around $47k vs Knoxville Nationals Saturday night at around a half a mil$$$$$. I'd guess Knoxville's use of the title is pretty safe. . IMO the next guy to hold a Racesaver Nationals, regardless of where, is infringing on the use of the word and title.....

I always thot the word just indicates they are asking everyone in the nation to attend so it is a huge event. Locally we had invitationals about once per year at each track. They invited every other club around to attend to make it big. The irony is that when it isnt a nationals or invitational do you not allow people from other states or clubs to race.???
Titles are just words and success makes its own name.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
