NCRA Sprint Car Thursday Night Practice Tidbits!
Park City, Kansas – March 29, 2018 - Several pit notes from Thursday night’s open practice in preparation for this weekends eighth annual “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” at 81 Speedway Park City, Kansas to open the 29th consecutive season for the National Championship Racing Association 360-ci sprint car series.
Twenty-three drivers took part in the three-hour practice session with three drivers who haven’t been announced as competing. They were Brandon Mullen of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Dylan Peterson from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Nicholas Howard from Lawrence, Kansas.
Drivers pit side included: Jason Martin, Gary Balog, Blake Hahn, Brant O’Banion, Cody Ledger, Jamie Ball, Randy Woodside, Jeremy Campbell, Matt Covington, Kaden Taylor, Ray Seeman, Mason Daniel, Sammy Swindell, Wayne Johnson, Lee Grosz, Wade Nygaard, Ryan Bickett, Kyle Bellm, Jake Greider and Johnny Herrera.
Swindell and Greider changed motors half way through the three-hour practice session.
While he was in the pits wrenching for California’s Mason Daniel, it is rumored that two-time PCC/ACS champion Danny Lasoski has courted the #13 Jimco Motorsports sprinter after the team released their regular driver, Mark Dobmeier, earlier Wednesday afternoon. He would be the only former winner to be entered if this ride materializes.
Former World of Outlaw sprint car champion Daryn Pittman tweeted he and his family are driving to Kansas from California where he will pilot the #31b Missouri City, Texas car owned and normally driven by Brandon Berryman.
With a major cold front expected sometime late Saturday night, speedway officials have moved championship Saturday night’s starting action to 6:00 PM with gates opening at 4:00 PM.
Also announced is that Speedshift.com will be showing both Friday and Saturday night’s racing action live on PPV.
Don’t forget, Friday night will see gates open at 5:00 PM with race action set for a 7:00 PM start time.
