I was there each day from the first hot lap, including every single race on Saturday.

Yes, track conditions were an certainly big issue and Emmett is going to have to address that mess. I understand lots of dust in a 55 lap race,  but it was bad even in the features earlier in the week.  Never seen the cushion so high so early.  This was the first year I used a face mask on Saturday night,  logic won out over vanity.

Regardless in many cases the racing was good.  Yes, the KKM cars dominated the features, but it was the super talented Larsen, Bell and Rico winning, with Bayston the only regular team driver to make an impression.  Their other drivers were much less impressive.

The Stanton SR-11 motors are getting  darn close to the Toyotas especially Thorson's car. The NOS super team under performed in my opinion.  Yes, Bernal made a run in the big race and Grant won Friday (weakest night) but I expected a bit more.

People chattered about the high flip counts, but the majority are from close aggressive racing especially on the starts.

Going to 6 days should reduce the nightly car counts to the mid 60s, which means 2-3 less heat races,  maybe 1 less D-main and C-main each night.  Less pounding on the track.

I still love the format... like the Knoxville Nationals every lap on the track counts.  Some guys got themselves in deep holes early, like Thorson, Pickens and Gardner, with only Thorson ever getting out of it.

I will be back in my same seat next year and see every lap again.

KKM was above and beyond all others but Grant and Courtney were running 4th and 5th with both closing in on Rico until they hit each other. I think the NOS team did alright but certain circumstances made it look worse than it was. Under performed? Maybe but expectations were high to begin with.

With no hot laps for the later mains the program was moving along pretty quick during the afternoon so my question was why didn't they take the time to rework the track for the pole shuffle? The last one was good but they were still just fighting for the bottom.

I forgot the shuffle which was a complete joke until the Larsen dive bomb.  I agree with a need to rework the track to get some sort of top lane.

I completely missed the Grant/Courtney incident, to be honest I was focused on Thorson with glances back to the leaders.

The worst night of racing at the Chili Bowl is still the 5th best race of the year.

But yes,  the track was different and not for the better.    Friday was the worst and the top side was dominant earlier in the Sat A main than usual.    Something changed,  my guess is that someone new was making the decisions.    That person needs to  be given a ticket in the grandstands next year and kept completely away from any equipment including radios.

The pole scrambles needs to be run either on Friday night or directly after the D features and BEFORE any track prep.]   It was too slick for 2 car racing.

I just rewatched the Wednesday night main with Rico, Kevin Thomas Jr and Tyler Thomas... must have been a dozen slidejobs in that A-main.  Best main of the week.

It was my first Chili Bowl & lots of highly competitive races

Every nite was different, first nite was a thrill for me, heats not as great Wed., lots of yellows, but A-Main was really good

Was kind of disappointed in Shuffle, like Speedbump said, not competitive until the last one... whoever took off first won every other race

I was hoping for more from Clauson/Marshall & Swindell teams, but oh well, Kunz earned it again

No other CBs to compare it to, but thoroughly enjoyable for me!

I also liked the fomat a lot. random draw for heats, passing points

Races were competitive, but "cream" still rose to the top. You could see the pros passing the lesser drivers every race

Can you imagine how long it would take to run TTs for 350 cars???

I thought the racing was great, as usual. Yes, not every race was a nail-biter and there were some where it was follow-the-leader, but those were the exception rather than the rule.

Friday was the dustiest I've ever seen. I don't recall ever having so much dust on my clothes there. I rarely get headaches, but I had a bad one when I woke up Saturday. I'm guessing it was from Friday's air, but maybe not.

I've never been a fan of two-car races and I didn't see anything this year that would make me reconsider.

Something needs to be done to shorten the programs and adding an extra night should do it. The average finishing time was around 11 p.m., which meant six-hour programs. It would be great if they could cut an hour off that.

I'm curious to see if they'll lose any fans next year by going to six nights. Another night may exceed the limit for some, especially for those who travel a fair distance. But with four nights consistently being sold out, it shouldn't be an issue.

I was only able to attend the first 2 nights this year, the track was definately much drier than years past and more evidence was not many mud balls thrown into stands. The slick track made for many slide jobs, but also lead to much follow the leader and very little lap traffic  SO the rich guy driving the midgets like they were stolen rental cars lead to the normal hundreds of yellows and over 50 cars flipping many of them rather hard crashes tearing up lots of stuff.

I was looking forward to "The Shuffle" (match races) but they were disappointing. On the other hand, if my memory serves me well, similar event at Kokomo Smackdown was pretty good...
