Davey Hamilton Jr. was very seriously injured Saturday night at Irwindale. He is reportedly expected to be in a full body brace for quite some time. Eric Humphries of Chowchilla won the race after passing long-time race leader Bobby Santos Jr. Santos was the only driver who had anything for JoJo Helberg Sunday at Kern County, but he suddenly slowed going into Turn Three and stopped on lap 23. Helberg continue to lead until he got in a tangle with the driver of the #25j (not Sierra Jackson this time) on the next to last lap. Bryan Warf of Boise inherited the lead and won the race over Eric Humphries, who had come all the way to second from the back after reportedly flatting a tire early.

Davey Hamilton JR's injury is a non-surgery compression fracture in the back, according to his Twitter account. It was a ultra high-speed spin backward into the turn-2 wall. Hamilton staggered from his car as the fuel tank ruptured and caught fire. This was a very bad wreck. He went to a hospital in an ambulance. I wish him the best in the future.
