Any other Shortracks in North America Besides Knoxville, Eldora, Oswego & Ransomville have JUMBLETRONS ? & does the Dirt and dust affect there JUMBLETRONS at All ? Thank's
Reason' Im Asking Was at Ohsweken for the 11th Annual World Of Outlaw Summmer Nationals Sprintcar Race
I Normally sit on the Main Grandstand side for Heats & Features to Video, But the Track was videoing themselves and Do a AWESOME Job so i decide to stay on the pitside Just some of my thoughts from videoing on pitside a the track, & Ive know this for a long time, but when videoing the races once it's dark the cars on both the front stretch and the back stretch all look dark and black, in the corners they look fine, MY QUESTION is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY to add Lighting on the track for the pit side viewers so the cars don't look dark and black without blinding the front grandstand fans My last Thought & I KNOW IT CO$T$ MAJOR DOUGH, But Hoping Ohsweken Speedweay can put a JUMBLE TRON ON THEIR WISH LIST & BUCKET LIST as I think it would REALLY ENHENCE the Pitside Viewers to watch Victory Lane cerimonies & Replays for ALL Fans located on bothsides a the race track

The large video screens are often called JUMBOTRONS.

I think what he is refering to is the old scoreboard at Port Royal when a lot of the light bulbs were not working.

I think the confusion was in "jumble" meaning messed up, and not "jumbo".....meaning large......

Super Chuck says he will forever refer to large screens at stadiums, race tracks, drive-in theaters and even Times Square....as Jumbletrons. Call it what you want, but for him....Jumbletrons.

Eagle Raceway HAD one located outside of turn 3, but it took a direct hit from a lightning strike several years ago and that was all she wrote. I'm not sure about the dust affecting the screen, but I know the electronics that ran the screen did have issues with the summer heat occasionally. I miss it though. It made my job a little easier. From my position at the bottom of turn one I could watch almost the entire track and see the Jumbotron. It had the top 5 running order and the laps remaining displayed which was helpful. (We've got a smaller LCD in the infield that displays both now) The camera man also had the uncanny knack for being zoomed in close on the car that was going to bring out the next caution. I'd frequently see a wreck develop on the screen before I'd see it "live" and was able to get a couple steps headstart in that direction.

Weedsport Speedway in NY has one and I believe the only dirt track with LED lights.

Hate to be a downer, but I wish tracks would put the money back in to track prep and the drivers purse. I think that is more important than having a Jumbotron. I would rather see a good racing surface and a good car count than a jumbotron.

In a round about way the do help bring money for track prep and purse. They use it as a selling point to sponsors and ticket buyers and they both give money to the track.
