I definitely will be there. I think that track's size and high banking will be absolutely perfect for USAC. I imagine most of the WAR guys will show up as well. I'm a bit concerned about the 5 pm start time though. That could dry the track up very quickly especially with the high temperatures we've had in Missouri lately.

Thanks. Didn't know since their website only said USAC 410s. Figured it could have been in addition to weekly class but just not noted.

Hey oppweld, USAC was @ Moberly once in the late 80's I believe, except they were winged sprints. I was there and remember somebody lost a RR into the trees off turn 4. I dont know how long USAC ran the winged division but it wasnt long.

I forgot about the dark days of USAC wingdom. Should be a great race, I hope for a good crowd and decent car count!

I thought same thing when I read Oppweld's post. Knew it was late 80's or early 90's. Tried to find some info on that race. Figured there would be some fairly easily accessible information on USAC's winged races, but I couldn't find any (I didn't put a whole lot of time into it, though.) It's been a lot of years ago, but if memory serves me correctly, Steve Butler won that race.

According to Ritchie Murray the resident statistical guru at USAC it was Rich Vogler in the Hoffman 69 car with the lone wing victory there.

As I said, it was a lot of years ago. That's why I wanted to find some info on it, because I wasn't sure if I was correct. For some reason Butler sticks out from that night. Wonder what Butler did that night?

So I was still having a hard time believing no support classes as mentioned above. USAC website say stock cars and factory stocks as support classes but RCR's website just mentions the USAC and the 25 dollar ticket buy one get one free fan appreciation. This is the same distance from home as Mason City which has ASCS national tour same night. Can't decide where to go. Earlier start time for moberly for sure which is good but if they only have 21 cars im guessing Mason City have the edge on car count by far. As for style of race tracks moberly with the high banks is more fun than Mason City. hmmmmm......

I am betting the car count will be better. WAR was at Springfield, Mo on Saturday night. I have read on social media that several drivers will be there. I would guess 25-28 cars.
