So this is pretty much my first year as a Sprint Car fan. I've lived in PA for a few years now, but still drove quite a ways to see Late Models instead most of the time. I've been watching Sprints a lot more this year (Have not missed a 410 show at Lincoln yet) and plan to take vacation to hit most of PA Speedweek (Williams Grove to Williams Grove, minus Grandview) and I'm wondering what local drivers can be expected to run Speedweek. Do any of the Lincoln regulars run the whole thing? (Monteith, Dietz, Kendall, etc) or Port regulars (Taylor, Heimbach, Wagner, Cisney, etc)? What about cars that come from other areas? I know Kasey Kahne is running a bunch of the shows, but are there any cars from Ohio, or the Midwest that makes the trip? Will James McFadden be running the Highlands car by that time?
Thanks,
Jeff.

There's not many that run the whole week anymore. I'd say Dietrich, Hodnett, Wolfe, probably Dale Blaney. Don't know of anyone else. There's usually a few cars that come in from areas to run some of or all of the shows but don't know of any this year. Bryan Clausen(RIP) did last year in the 17. Good question about McFadden. He's usually over here for speedweeks(OH and PA). The regular 410 tracks(Port, Lincoln and WG) usually draw the best car counts.

As noted above only a handful run all of PA Speedweek. Ohio Speedweek gets some aid because it's an All Star sanctioned Speedweek. I still say it'd be neat to work the speed weeks out better and have a "neutral" Ohio v PA race on a day between the speedweeks. Say at Lernerville-neutral race smack down between both OH and PA concentrated drivers. Make it a big pay day too to attract cars. Would take tons of planning, logistic, etc.
Super surprised Veal and JMac aren't over here yet. They usually arrive closer to beginning of June and run a few races before OH and PA Speedweeks start. Nouse was shaking down the Highlands car weeks ago and he even said he thought JMac would be here by now. Sounds like they're both on their way just surprised it wasn't closer to early June (yes I realize it's only June 15th).

He's not a PA regular, but I read somewhere that Kasey Kahne plans/hopes to participate in five PA Sprint speedweek shows between the Daytona NASCAR race and the following NASCAR race.

Western PA Speedwek. this use to happen sometime in the 90's, All Star Sanctioned. My wife and I did 4 dates one year, I think it was in 1995. We saw Lernerville, Sharon, and I think New Castle maybe? and 4th one that was close to new castle. We stayed at the same hotel for all 4 nights, and the teams could use the same hotel all week.
Someone will remeber this batter than I can. One of the tracks on on the side of a hill. Parking was on a pretty steep slope,a nd you had to park a certain direction, lol. If a car went off the back straight, he would completely dissapear from your view in the stands. We saw some good racing, that was for sure. Ed Lynch Jr was one of my favorite drivers of the time, and he use to run those.
Too bad it was a 10 hour drive for us. I hope someone else remembers this, and can post the tracks that they ran. I am sure a couple may have been closed by now.

Found an article. in 2000, it was the 8th annual, so they started in 1992. in 2000, tracks were Mercer, Port Royal, Lernerville, Pittsburg PA Motor Speedway, and tri-City. According to the article, Lernerville, and Pittsburg PA Motor Speedway were the only two tracks that year to host a race each of the 8 years.

Western PA Speedweek included tracks like Lernerville, Mercer, Port Royal, I think tri-city, sportsmans may be, maybe hickory or challenger? Don't think Sharon was ever included in it but I could be wrong.

I don't remember this. I was out of the area during the late 90s though so I can see why I don't remember. Interesting. Thanks dirtracer !

I read in one of the columns that a guy ( cant remember name ) from Austrulia is coming over to run all of Ohio and Pa Speedweeks. He will be new to the US.

Sammy Walsh. Running both Speedweeks. That's a TON of racing in a two week span.

Cool, there was an Aussie just a few years ago that came over and ran speedweek a few times. Don't remember his name but I think his number was 77.

steep bank ..... turn 1 & 2 @ Challenger Speedway, McIntyre, Pa.? There is gas well between the grandstands & the pit area. Also had a motorcross track on property. ..... New Castle track was Hickory Speedway.

Saw an interview with Dale Blaney where he said one of his goals this year in the Zemco ride is to win the PA speedweek title.

They should have one event between Speedweeks, Ohio/Pa. Challenge, held alternate years at Eastern Ohio/ Western Pa. tracks. Of course they'd need a big, evenly spread out purse to get my Posse boys off the porch...
