Is there any reason not to store a QC rear end with the axle vertically in a trailer? It would be secured to the wall.

Carried my spare like that for 15 yrs. Used the collar off an old torque tube with a piece of delrin at the bottom to drop the end of the axle in, a split collar for the other end and a yoke that captured the lower shaft. after we went to iternal couplers I just sawed of a piece of an old drive shaft to stick in there to keep the center section still. I didn't keep rear end grease in it while it was stored.

Easy to mount, get a hold of and transfer (i.e. walk) more efficiently/quickly out of the trailer when it's stored horizontally should it need to be used in a "right away" situation. Also quicker/easier to check (double check I guess) fluid when they're stored/transported in natural position (horizontally).
