The Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Series presented by Malvern Bank came back to its home state of Nebraska as we took to the newly configured track at Junction Motor Speedway. This co-sanctioned event, with the NCRA, brought 20 cars to the 3/8 mile facility on a breezy, hot evening in McCool Junction, Nebraska.

Lincoln, Nebraska’s Jason Martin started on the pole of heat race number 1, with Jon Freeman of Salina, Kansas on his outside. The 2nd row featured multiple Junction Motor Speedway winners of Ryan Roberts and Don Droud Jr.. The start was brought back as Jordan Boston passed the 2nd row before the green flag flew. On the restart, Jason Martin got the jump as Ryan Roberts followed in tow followed by Droud. With 3 laps down, Jason Martin had a commanding lead over Roberts by at least a dozen cars but the yellow soon came out for a spin by Mike Kay in turn 2. Ryan Roberts took a dive in turn 1 on the restart on Martin, but it wasn’t enough as Jason Martin maintained his lead in turn 2. Jason Martin was able to hold onto the lead followed by Ryan Roberts, Don Droud Jr., Jon Freeman, and Jordan Boston.

Danny Jennings of Norman, Oklahoma was on the pole for heat race #2 with T.J. Artz on his outside. Bobby Becker pulled off before the green flag. The start of the race saw Danny Jennings propel himself to a 10 car lead as he went down the backstretch on lap #1. With T.J. Artz in tow, Jeremy Campbell had moved up 2 positions to 4th as he was now on the hunt for Stuart Snyder in 3rd place. Midway through, Jennings had a front stretch lead over Artz. The action was close for 4th as Cody Ledger had shown Jeremy Campbell his nose, but it wasn’t enough. Danny Jennings took the win followed by T.J. Artz, Stuart Snyder, Jeremy Campbell, and Cody Ledger.

The most recent winner of the series with two wins at the Jackson Nationals, Jack Dover, started 3rd in heat race #3. Jeff Stasa of Kingman, Kansas was on the pole with Jason Becker on his outside. Tadd Holliman was suppose to start 5th but blew his motor in hot laps. Jeff Stasa got a great start but Jack Dover moved up to 2nd and proceeded to hang on his tail for several laps. Midway through, Stasa controlled the lead by 3 cars over Dover as they both held the same line with their right rear on the cushion. Stasa retained his lead for the win, followed by Jack Dover, Forrest Sutherland, Blain Petersen, and Jason Becker.

Forrest Sutherland was your Saldana Racing Products Pole Award winner for the night’s 25 lap A feature. The feature started 18 cars with $2000 going to the winner. Tadd Holliman and Bobby Becker did not start the A feature.

Ryan Roberts got a huge jump on the start, as he started on the outside of row #1, but several cars spun and collided in turn 2 bringing out the first caution of the night. A complete restart resulted in Don Droud Jr. and Ryan Roberts leading the field to the green flag. Roberts again took to the high side and over powered Don Droud Jr. Danny Jennings, who was extremely fast in hot laps, powered past Droud to take over the 2nd spot. Another yellow was brought out restocking the field with 1 lap down.

Ryan Roberts lead the field on the restart with Jennings in tow. Jason Martin moved to 3rd on lap 2 taking that spot from Droud. Roberts, with a front stretch lead came into lap traffic by lap 5 as Jennings had clean air in 2nd. Jeremy Campbell passed Droud on lap 7 to take over the 4th spot. Danny Jennings had shortened Roberts lead by lap 10 to 5 cars as he reeled in Roberts. Jordan Boston came to a stop in the turn 2 exit resulting in a caution with 10 laps to go.

Roberts brought the field to the green flag on the restart as Droud and Campbell traded spots for 4th place. Jason Martin, running in 3rd, caught Jennings as he put a move on Jennings to take over 2nd. With lap traffic in play, Jason Martin was taken back about 10 car lengths on Roberts, the leader. Jason Martin caught Roberts and pulled a slide job on Roberts, in turn 4, to take over the lead, on lap 5, as both Roberts and Martin maneuvered through lap traffic. Martin was able to hold on and take the win. Ryan Roberts finished 2nd followed by Don Droud Jr., Jeremy Campbell, and Cody Ledger.
