Good car count, decent show.
Find it hard as a fan to decide if reworking the track is good or not. The A was a freight train after 34 did the work, but not sure how it would have been otherwise. Passing cars seems to be going away in sprint car racing.

Balog and Madman started 7th and 8th respectively and finished 2nd and 3rd. I read there was a pileup on opening lap. Did this allow for those two to move up to 2 and 3 or did they pass to get there?...BTW this is a serious inquiry, it doesn't say in the ASCOC article, just that there was a pileup so I'm honestly curious. I figured it'd be freight train because of high temps, sun, wind, etc. Still a night at the track

I was watching on The Cushion and it looked like everyone was around the bottom early, but then Balog got going up top and got by Kemenah for the lead. At that point, I was thinking it was all but a formality for Bill but then the bottom came back in and Kemenah blew by him like he was standing still.
Pretty impressive weekend for Paul Nienhiser. 2 2nd's and a 5th last night after looping it on lap one.

Balog did pass Kemenah on the top, but it was more a result of Kemenah being slowed by the back of the field on the bottom. Once he got those guys disposed of, he was faster again and passed Balog back.
It was still entertaining to watch, but I just feel like every time 34 touches the track before the feature, it doesn't work out. I thought about it last night and couldn't ever recall a scenario where an A main was fantastic after they did track work. Not sure it needed it last night, either, which was unfortunate. Putting water down on the bottom wasn't a desirable outcome, especially since not a lot of 410 laps had been ran down there. The midgets were down there quite a bit, especially during their feature, but the track didn't look too used up from the stands.
Oh well, damned if you do, damned if you don't. They could have let it sit and had rubber, which wouldn't have been good either. Good show overall - glad the track brought in the 410s.
