Dietrich is running a car fielded by Buch. He has even tweeted pictures of it.

Yep, DD is running a car (with a unique halo that may or may not be deemed legal).
I believe KTJ and TMez are running as well as your normal USAC guys - Windom, Darland, Courtney, Grant (?), etc.

Saw a few pics of that "halo" on twitter a while back. Can't see any reason why it wouldn't be legal. Some additional head protection that allows a few more inches should be a good thing, as he isn't your average 5'7" 150 lb. driver.
Attempting to be a voice of reason in a world full of
irrationality.

Oh I'm all for safety as well, his halo had no egress for exit should something occur. The bars were too close together. Daryn Pittman and Kevin Swindell chimed in and said the halo was fine but the bars at the front should be spaced a few inches wider to allow for exit. DD said he'd just bash the fiberglass side panel out to exit, which sounds fine except if you have 10-15 seconds to do it moments after an accident. Adrenaline would probably allow someone of his size to do it but man you're strapped in to a full containment seat and have to get your helmet off to do it, etc. And you may only have seconds if a fire did occur. Or what if you got knocked out? If the halo allowed for access safety crew could get you out. If they had to bash the side panel in (let's say car was laying on left side) that would take valuable seconds.

Thats great news & makes me even more eager to see it
I just wonder how well a lifelong winged driver will do vs. wingless pros, whole different animal, I think he'll be doing well to finish the race intact....

Saw some pictures on Twitter and it looks like DD removed one of the bars on his unique halo (I do not know if USAC deemed it not legal or if he personally chose to remove it). FWIW.
