I have seen Toyotas in Midgets, Modifieds, and Silver Crown cars. Has anyone run a Toyota in a wing or non wing sprint car? They seem to be pretty awesome engines in the Midget cars.

Could it be the compression ratio for a 410 is too high or something with the pushrods not holding up...hmmm...
Could also be that they've found succes with engines in other realms of auto racing and are simply making a smart business and fiscal move by focusing on those areas. Especially when you consider a 410 or 360 is more a purpose built engine, the profit factor (or lack there of) of a "from the factory" Toyota 410 just isn't there when you start mixing components (again being more purpose built engines). They can focus on "factory built" auto racing engines where the margins are higher and make more sense with the TRD brand and business goals.
Good question!

Western Speed won the 2007 Sprint portion of Turkey Night at Irwindale with Bobby Santos and the first Toyota sprint engine. It was a NASCAR truck engine with Kinsler injection. We also ran a V8 Toyota sprint engine with TRD support in our non wing USAC sprint before they were used in the Champ cars. They were owned and maintained by TRD. An aluminum block was in the works but the recession hit harder and they shelved the the new aluminum block. The engines were over 100# heavy compared to our aluminum block Chevrolets. They are great for any class like Champ cars that run iron blocks and open heads. They won't work in a 360 sprint because of the cylinder head valve angle, and they are too heavy for the 410 class. if an open head division had a heavier weight or Toyota completes the aluminum block they would be fine

Its just a copy of a Ford so most likely illegal. Its a shame since a toy powered triple x would excite many unamerican globalists ocupying our great sport
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
