Seriously .... lol SmileSmile speech. ?

He was dq'd from starting the feature . He reported late. Was told to go to the rear and refused. Stopped on the front stretch and made an ass of himself. They towed his car off the track.

All this after he took out Montieth in the first turn of the first lap in the dash. I've seen rookies attempt better sliders than what he "attempted" . Slammed into the side of the 21 car at full speed.

He didn't win?  Why was he chest bumping with the officials at the pit entrance?

I used to like Danny but after tonight, I can't do it. It's a shame. He's got all the talent in the world but his attitude and maturity level couldn't be worse. Kyle Reinhardt got the same raw deal and he was pissed about it as well he should be. But he took his lumps like a man and later voiced his displeasure in an appropriate and professional way. Danny could have a hell of a future in this sport but as a high school teacher once told me, when you go for an interview (which for a sprint car driver, is every time they hit the track regardless of how stable their current team is) dress for where you want to go, not where you are or where you've been. Danny isn't impressing too many people these days. I don't mind that he's outspoken and all that. I actually like that, but he consistently doesn't act his age. Especially when things don't turn out his way. I hate like hell to talk bad about him, but anyone who was there saw the same thing I did and the way he acted was bad enough then he followed it up with a completely classless tweet directed at Kolten Gouse on Twitter. I hope he soon wises up because sprint car racing is a tough sport and you can't afford to burn bridges like he's doing. I don't think there's many owners out there who would put up with the kind of behavior he has all to often exhibited. I really hope he gets it soon because there's no question, he's one of the best there is right now talent wise but for now, I'll be leaving all 5 of my DD shirts in my closet. On a different note, I'm so happy to see Jacob Allen get his first 410 win. He was fast right off the trailer and held off several advances by Lance Dewease who is one of the best in the country right now. It was especially great to see how genuinely appreciative he was in victory lane. He owned the moment and Scruffy should be damn proud of how far he's come as well as Logan. Those kids are really starting to make some noise.

Excellent post and recap. I was not there yesterday, but like you, I am having second thoughts on rooting for DD. It seemed like he had gotten his act together after having a mid year "twitter dust up" with the Lincoln speedway officials, but once again........???

The track is a joke.

The show was poorly run. Hands down the worst ive seen all year. A 3-4 hour show ended up being a 7 hour show. Amateur hour.

Then they punish drivers for "being late to staging" .... are they kidding ? Maybe the fans should punish the track for being uncoordinated ??? Total joke. Never have been a DD fan but what happened last night was a disgrace.

Were you at the same race I was?  The two biggest delays were both a result of DD's actions.  First was his inability to clear Montieth during a slide job sending Montieth into the air.  Second was his childish temper tantrum when he was sent to the rear for his failute to stage on time.  Maybe the first was a "racing incident" but the second issue clearly showed DD's continuing immaturity.  Even if he felt he had been "wronged" he could have handled it in a much more professional manner.  I'm not a DD hater and always have felt he was a great "wheel man" but he really had his head up his b**t yeasterday!  He was a total embarassment to the fans and to his fellow drivers.

Did you see time trials ?

Did you see how they staged the cars throughout the night ?

Did you see the lack of communication that left the pace truck on the track for laps and laps and laps on end ?

Amatuer hour. Completely inefficient. Obnoxious waste of fans time.

DD acted like a fool but after putting up with that poorly run show and then dealing with the hypocrisy of being "punished" for being a minute late (which he denies) , id have done the same thing. Yeah he acted like an ass but just because Reinhardt acted with class doesnt mean what happened to him was right.

Danny Dietrich delayed the show 5-10 minutes..The incompetence of Susquehanna speedway is what delayed the show a extra 2 hours..I'm having my doubts about The future if this keeps up...

I see no reason why they should be rewarded a speedweek date.

fancy the place up all u want...if u can't run a efficient show no one cares.

6.5hrs for a 2 division show is unacceptable...

my bias has nothing to do with the black flag situation.  I've  given this track the benefit of the doubt all season.  Last nights show was a total mismanagement.  Not good with that huge crowd.

If running a race track is so easy you and 19posse should hook up with Altman and show those people just how to run a show Smile .......or just stay home. I'm sure 3 of the standing room only fans would appreciate your seat

For all of DD's embarrassing actions, Jacob more than offset them with a genuinely heart felt victory we haven't seen in a long time

They still have the same staff as Todd had. That's why shows are still ran poorly. They don't have enough push trucks to run a track in properly or to run a sprint car show. Saturday night shows don't have this problem because all the classes have starters. Basically what Scott and Kolten have done so far is put lipstick on a pig. Now that's not to say they don't have plans to re-staff and buy more trucks and quads. It's a process and will probably be a long one with the state the track was left in. I still get pissed at the usual Susky antics, but we need to realize that this isn't Chuck Brennan taking over and dumping millions into the the place. It's gonna take a few years. Danny had a legitimate beef last night because they don't have the equipment to run a sprint show yet. Could he have handled it better? Absolutely. But he has reason to pissed. I know I still am. That's why we don't race there anymore.

Calling it as I see it bud.  If u go back through my history you can see I don't bitch about tracks much if at all.

Lots of unhappy people last night...lots of people leaving early...

i hope they learn from the mistakes this season...that's what I was getting at...

as for running a track...I got a job...but..i'd love the opportunity...do you have a track and some $$ to help me get started on this adventure? ...Smile

I never claimed what happened to DD was right or wrong.  I just stated that he acted in an immature manner.  Fifty-nine other drivers handled the pace of the show with no similar childish displays.  I do agree that Susky management needs to hold more efficient shows but I stand by my observation that the BIGGEST delays were caused by DD.

When can we expect to see a public apology from Danny Deitrich for his childish actions yesterday?

Totally agree with you as well as everyone else about how the show was ran. Completely unacceptable. I know they're trying but they're only going to get so many opportunities to piss people off so they better get their heads out of their asses. My wife and I had to cancel plans that we should've been able to keep with 2 hours to spare. I will be patient however because I like Kolten a lot and I know they had a long climb up a steep hill ahead of them when they took over. Dietrich definitely got screwed and if he'd acted like an adult, people would be talking about it but since he decided to act like the way he did, he willingly took that negative attention and put it on himself.

Just a hunch, but I think we'll be debating Dietrich's actions with track officials for years to come. The new Terry McCarl perhaps?

Let me explain childish actions to you.

When someone comes on a message board and asks about "Danny's victory lane interview."

Then talks about "chest bumping an official."

and then comes on the same thread the following morning demanding an apology.

That right there is as childish as it gets.  Sounds like you have an axe to grind with DD and are using this forum to do it.

Your more in the wrong than anyone.

Sounds like DD had a controversial call go against him.

Why exactly do you think anyone owes you anything?

You exaggerate...  The 358 feature was over before 8 pm.  While the program was longer than it should have been (no arguement there), lets be 100% truthful.

As for major delays.  I'm not sure how long it took to clean up turn 2 after the car went into the fence and damaged it and the lights over there, but I know it took a bit to get that ironed out.  I don't blame anybody for that though.

Too many laps under yellow for no discernible reason...folks started leaving during the second 410 fuel stop with 4 to go and catch fence damage in 2...tracks lights knocked out, then restored.

it actually reminded me of old guard Port Royal where time would stand still while wrecker crews toiled to get cars removed, fix shit etc.

At least when Fisher ran the place, we knew not to expect any improvements in how a show would be run and had no illusions of grandeur...other than betting on which bleacher boards around us nit collapse and injure a few unsuspecting fans.

Look at the bright side...with all the screwing Aron d at 410 shows this year, Susky has a great shot at being the most improved track in 2017.

If last night was any fan's "first time at Susky"... It was far from ideal.
