I wouldn't have minded it if the money went to a lower budgeted Midwest team but still congrats to Rico. He is a true wheel man and fun to watch!

Not sure of his official total in either form of racing, but he is sitting 14th in points for the trucks. 14th place at the last race paid $13,000. Say he averages that per race over 13 races so far, that would be $169,000 for the year. Again, this is not at all official and many variables are not taken into account. Obviously other things will add to a drivers take for the year such as being contracted, endorsement deals and souvenirs sales.
Of note, 1st place in the truck race paid $46,000 and last $9000 (32 places paided).

Probably true... but the month he had in a winged 410 from mid-July to mid (to late) August put plenty of food on the table! He racked up $26,700 at the Kings Royal weekend... $12,500 at Kokomo for winning Dirt Classic... $21,600 at Iron Man weekend (won final night) ... $20k Knoxville Nationals week ... and at least $51k (don't remember what 9th paid this past Fri) at Huset's . That's north of $131k in 11 races.

He does not get $13,000, but a percent of it, but of course he does not have to pay on the road and other costs for sprint car team.

News Flash! If you don't bring money, you're not getting a NAPCAR ride. Example: Joey Lagono. !st year in Nationwide series for Joe Gibbs cost his daddy 13 million. Thats been quite a few years ago now. When you get to cup level for one of the top teams of course, thats when you get paid, and well. Doubt things are any different for Rico.

True, but not always true. There are quite a few talented drivers that showed up with nothing but the shirt on their backs and big money Nascar owners knew better than to let them pass by.
There is a long list of drivers, past and present, that did not have a dime to their name when they hit the Nascar ranks. (Many of them even upside down financially from financing their own racing ventures)
