Yes thay are. Sara Christian was the first ever female driver in NASCAR history. Her first race was at Charlotte Speedway on June 19th......1949! On July 10th, 1949, she raced in the second Daytona Beach race along with two other female drivers, Ethel Moberly and Louise Smith. Ethel Moberly was a sister to the Flock brothers of NASCAR fame.
