Read that they got disqualifed for an illegal tire last week at Knoxville. How many times have they been busted cheating since they started sprints?

They have failed tech twice, I don't know if either time was intentional cheating (and no one else probably does either). Illegal muffler (if they bought headers with mufflers attached already, they probably didn't check them) and illegal tire (if they bought a used tire from a 410 team and that tire isn't approved for 305's is a possibility).
The big thing I get from it is that the Tech Guys are checking whether or not a vocal minority want to believe it.

I think it's been twice for a tire and once for mufflers. didnt he win a 305 race with a 360 in at Burlington once? DQ'd for that one as well.

Super Chuck is glad someone brought this up. This kid has been DQ'd enough times (at least four?) in a short career that it is becomming commical. When he won the 305 race earlier this year, the guy next to Super Chuck leaned over and said, "No way he makes it through tech..." followed by "Hell, even Ray Charles saw that coming." There's a difference in making a mistake and cheating. Running a 360 in a 305 race doesn't feel like a mistake. Glad the dogs are onto him.

Former Iowan, curious if Chase's dad is Bryan Wanner, used to run late models with him.

Yep, Bryan is his dad.
It's to the point now, even if they were 100% legal and won a race, that nobody would believe it.

I have heard that the engine that they got caught with at Burlington was a 377, so it would not have been legal with the 360's either. That is also supposedly the same engine that they were running with the 360 club. They have really created a bad situation for themselves.

Dont know anything about Chase but I do know that in the past there have been cars that dont win that are not legal .You arent labeled a cheater until you get caught Smokey Yunich made the statement before the rules were better defined it wasnt cheating just being competitive.Nascar simply fines them and lets them keep the win.[Richard Pettys 200th win]The crew cheif gets blamed and sits out a few races .When in any competitive atmospere the want to win sometimes overshadows ethics.Look at Lance Armstrong and the lenghts they went to cheat and made millionsCheaters never win and winners never cheat really isnt always true.

Sprinter79: I don't remember for sure on the 377 part. It's been a few years since we ran modifieds weekly at 34.
Shortie12: I do agree if you don't get caught it isn't cheating, but once you've been caught a few times they will continue to hound you. To me there was a difference between using gray area in the rules to give your car a competitive advantage with suspensions, etc. The problem i have is when you blatently run the wrong engine.

The sad part of this is the kid will get a label as a cheater anywhere he races. This started at English Creek in go karts they were cheating there, when protested then his dad wanted to fight and took a swing at another dad.
