NEED A NEW START? BMS OFFERS ‘SECOND CHANCE’ CHAMPIONSHIP POINT FUND
BRANDON, SD, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 – The racing season is closing in on the halfway point, and no doubt some teams are happier with the start of the season than others. Some have gotten off to great starts, others would no doubt like to see a ‘do over’ to the start of the season. Those teams are in luck.
Thanks to Dollar Loan Center, teams that race each week at Badlands Motor Speedway will have a chance to race for a ‘Second Chance Point Fund,’ that begins the weekend of July 9-10. The new point fund value is the same as the Original Track Championship point fund, worth $100,000.
It’s a fresh start, and the payouts are significant. Could someone win both? It’s possible, but no doubt the racing for the “Original Championship” and the “Second Chance Point Fund” – both equaling $100,000 – will be one for the ages.
Below are the current leaders for the Original $100,000 Championship Fund, which pays out to the Top 10 in each class: (complete payouts can be found at badlandsmotorspeedway.com) Outlaw Sprint Cars - Terry McCarl MSTS 360 Sprint Cars - Tim Kaeding Brandon Taco Johns IMCA Sprint Cars - Robby Wolfgang Late Model Street Stocks - Darrin Korthals Micro Sprint Cars - Jacob Hughes Hobby Stocks - Dustin Gulbrandson
Below is the point fund for the ‘Second Chance Payout’ that begins July 9-10, paying out to the Top 5: Outlaw Sprint Cars: Owner and Driver both receive: 1: $15,000 ($30,000), 2: $7,500 ($15,000), 3: $3,000 ($6,000), 4: $2,000 ($4,000), 5: $1,000 ($2,000). Total: $57,000
MSTS 360 Sprint Cars: Owner and Driver both receive: 1: $5,000 ($10,000), 2: $3,000 ($6,000), 3: $2,000 ($4,000), 4: $1,500 ($3,000), 5: $1,000 ($2,000). Total 360: $25,000
IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars: Team receives: 1: $3,000, 2: $2,500, 3: $2,000, 4: $1,500, 5: $1,000. Total 305 = $10,000
Late Model Street Stocks: Team receives: 1: $1,500, 2: $1,000, 3: $500, 4: $600, 5: $400. Total Street Stock = $4,000
Micro Sprint Cars: Team receives: 1: $600, 2: $500, 3: $400, 4: $300, 5: $200. Total Micro Sprint: $2,000
Hobby Stocks: Team receives: 1: $600, 2: $500, 3: $400, 4: $300, 5: $200. Total Hobby Stock: $2,000

Are you asking yourself? My assumption would be they could win the 2nd one in the same way they one the first, by accumulating the most points throughout the entire season, as well as from July 9th through the end of the season.

I was, wasn't sure how it would work out. Interesting concept and a sneaky way to grab more cars weekly.

That is correct. Accumulating points throughout the season starting July 9 for the newly announced Second Chance Championship. The original $100,000 Championship announced back in September is still the same.

Money trumps everything. (tradition, locations, etc.) If Brennan wants to throw so much money at the drivers that they can't help but go there, what can anyone do? You simply provide the best show you can within the price range that makes sense, and let the results fall where they will. Drivers who try to make their living racing can't help but chase the money. Can't fault them for that. One would think he couldn't throw it around season after season, but who knows. Give up trying to make sense of it and enjoy whatever racing you want to support, regardless of who is promoting or driving. I will always go to Knoxville, and honestly, 2 heats and a feature for each class, 9 races total, for $15 is a night well worth it to me.

There is no way on God's green earth that Knoxville, Chico, Williams grove, deer creek, the list goes on and on and on. Can compete financially with Badlands! Someone earlier compared badlands to Wal-Mart I hope that's not the way this is going I truely hope Chuck is doing this to improve racing in the Midwest long term and not just long enough to shut down the competition!

Better build a wall around there to keep Knoxville people out.And cappy has small hands when he ran Knoxville, yep making racing great again.Because I'm a deal maker that's what I do, I'm not sure BUT I heard the racers love me? Yep! This is all so funny it's crazy. Better just say it.Virginia is safe tonight and America still owes a lot of money better get work chuck. Thanks Reagan. But if just one guy can tell just one thing trumps party ever did for the working man I'll go to badlands and vote for trump.and yep,I'm nuts to. Beat you all to the punch.

You guys should love Chuck if your demorats, don't you like getting in free. Isn't the demorat way to get more money from people who earned it? I don't think either party gives a crap about the working man. How can the party of lets let everyone in this country care when there isn't enough jobs for the ones who are already here.
