Dollansky, Dude, sammi , K Madsen, I Madsen...green to checker 20 laps

RaceSaver 305s are doing well at DesMoines> thats the only cheaper form of sprint cars.Knoxville should adopt the same rules but wont as there are all ready too many high dollar 305s that would be obsolete.14 NSL sprints would make it hard for people to think they got their moneys worth. My guess if they had 24 the same cars would still win as the top cars were there.

I wonder why car count was so low? 27 at Knoxville the nite before....

I was gonna try to go, from Denver, but couldn't get started on time. Now I don't feel so bad

The rainout policy at Badlands had a lot to do with the car count at DM. Had Badlands ran last night, the NSL show would have had no competition for their show, so the field wouldn't have been split up so badly. Badlands isn't happy tying up one night a week for 410 sprint car racing.....they want to tie up two nights, to get just one show in.

If Husets/Badlands did not run against DM, there probably would have been 20 cars instead of 14.

Badlands had a really good crowd last night. Also I like badlands rainout policy, the fans in the Sioux Falls area got to see a 410 show this weekend. I don't know of anyone around here that was planning on going to Des Moines for the NSL show. As for the low car counts, that's on the promoters and drivers.

I think that Des Moines had a good fan count, but it is hard to gauge because of how large it is.  It was my first time to the track.  I was impressed with the building. Less than impressed with the track.  It is definitely a go fast place, but passing was difficult.

The DM NSL race last year was rubbering up during hotlaps and teams were killing a pair of tires everytime they went on the track (I was in the pits). The track crew tried to bring the top back for the dash and that last about 2 laps then back to one lane rubber racing.

The low car count is no one but DM's own fault and they didnt get the track right this year either by the sounds. You cant blame teams for not wanting to burn up roughly $1500 worth of tires.

Also Badlands doubled its purse from $5,000  to win to $10.000 to win which was done I am sure to keep cars away from DesMoines.  NSL should remember this for next time and do the same.

It sounds like Badlands won this battle over the NSL, but the war rages on.   However, I wonder if these two promoters going after each other is good for the long term?

I wonder if Sammy starts making more and more NSL shows over the summer?   Perhaps even a Dale Blaney sighting or two?

I don't see how this could be good long term. I understand the distance between Badlands and Knoxville mileage wise and I don't at all disagree with Badlands doing whatever they need to do to be successful. If that means moving to Saturdays, then I suppose that's what they should do and I don't really have a problem with that. What sucks is Brennan starting a war with the NSL and Knoxville and lets be real, he did. He fired the first shot when he ran his mouth about Knoxville saying how he's gonna puke if he hears the word Knoxville one more time and then following that up by saying that his Rock and Roll Gold Cup will blow away anything Knoxville has ever done. That to me is bullshit and he didn't have any reason to start a war with anyone. He chose to do it for whatever reasob. Any time these things happen within sprint car racing, fans, teams and everyone involved end up losing. As most of you know, I'm from Central PA so I don't really have a horse in the race but I do want to see sprint car racing thrive as well as it possibly can. Not just here at home but everywhere and what's going on out there right now is starting to look like it may get ugly. Unfortunately, in these deals, there's always a winner and a loser. They don't have to necessarily be friends or partners, but firing shots at each other is the worst thing that can happen. Hopefully everyone on both sides can eventually see the bigger picture and learn to coexist. Everyone will be better off in the long run.

NSL car count issues AGAIN.... not sure what has to happen for this tour to have an event with 30 or more cars. This happened too much last year too. And this proves once and for all if Badlands raced 410s regularly on Sundays that they would NOT have a stampede of Knoxville regulars there. To think Brown and Lasoski would drive from Missouri to Jackson to Knoxville and back to Brandon isnt rational thinking. From what I have seen so far about the only 2 Knoxville regulars I would have expected a lot at Badlands at a weekly Sunday 410 show would be Ian Madsen and Henderson. Maybe not this year but in the long run having 5-6 really fast cars at Knoxville and Badlands running for this kind of money will actually IMPROVE car counts when lower budget guys see that they can get much better 7th or 8th place money at these tracks then what they were getting just 1 or 2 years ago. The more I look at this the more it seems like Brennan did the right thing. He is getting many more cars from the Grand Forks track on Saturdays then he could have fantasized about pulling from Knoxville on Sundays.

even if the badlands purse stayed at the usual 5K, please tell us which drivers you could've added to the NSL list that night in desMoines????      Maybe Paige Polyak cuz she was in the areas??   Anyone else?
