Brian Brown – Five for Five!

(Bill W) September 18, 2007 – When Grain Valley, Missouri's Brian Brown and the Tim and Gina Doogs #21 have pulled into 24 Raceway, the winner's check has been in their possession on every occasion. Once again, Brian scored a win at the banked 3/8 mile oval near Moberly, Missouri in Winged Outlaw Warriors action, making him five for five at the facility in his career.

"I wouldn't mind if they put Moberly on the schedule every week!" says Brian. Veteran drivers Terry Hinck and Mike Trent, as well as Jay Russell lined up in front of the #21 in heat one. "There were some good cars in front of us in the heat race, but the car was working really good. We were rolling pretty well." That was an understatement, as Brian won his heat to earn the right to start on the pole of the 20-lap feature.

"We were able to start on the pole after winning the heat," says Brian. "It became rubber-down and we basically used our good starting spot. I just had to make sure we didn't screw up, and we would be o.k." The flag to flag victory followed up his win at the Gary Scott Memorial at 24 Raceway in May.

The win was Brian's fifth tally with the WOW sprints this year, and fourteenth overall.

New Associate Sponsor!

Brian ran like a Duke boy on Saturday night, but Boss Hogg is going to be on board next season. Brian and the Doogs are excited to welcome a new associate sponsor for the 2008-09 season, Boss Hogg Food Products. "I'm really excited that Boss Hogg has come aboard," says Brian. "We're looking forward to a long lasting relationship. It's a good example of corporate America coming to grassroots racing, and I'm excited about it!"

What started as a hog roast for family and friends in northern Indiana, Boss Hogg became a thriving car wash/restaurant, providing catering. The catering business still thrives, and Boss Hogg's products are now enjoyed nationwide. For more information on their popular product, visit www.BossHoggJerky.com.

Elizabeth Hine, Mark Segment Manager of Boss Hogg Food Products says, "The Team at BOSS HOGG FOOD PRODUCTS is very excited about our relationship with Brian Brown and Hero Sports. We made the decision to take BOSS HOGG to the next step of national market penetration when new owner Toby Buck purchased the company in March. The sponsorship with Brian Brown is part of the strategy to achieve broad national exposure. Sprint Car Racing is an incredible marketing machine that affords us the opportunity to leverage Hero Sports existing relationships to increase revenue across our product line; which includes Beef Jerky . Pork Sticks, a variety of sauces and rubs, and soon to be hitting the market place of BBQ Ribs and 'heat & eat' products. For product information, contact [email protected]."

Brian's Q&A

Mike Murphy in Lincoln, NE asks: I enjoy your show on Monday nights! Are you having fun doing it? What have you learned from it?

Brian answers: It's fun, but it's a lot of work too. You can't just show up and do it. You have to line guests up, and come up with quality questions for them. It's not easy. It's a lot different being on the other side of the interview table. I think some drivers have opened up a little more because I'm a driver myself. I think we have an edge over the other shows because of that. I enjoy it, and I hope we can do it as long as possible.

Brown's Bits

Brian's 14th win of the 2007 season was registered last Saturday at Moberly. With a handful of races left, he has an opportunity to establish a career high. Last year, he won the same amount in the U.S., but added one at Rolling Thunder Raceway in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria to make his 2006 season total, 15. In that race "Down Under", he won $10,000 by beating Luch Monte and Daryn Pittman to the finish line.
