That the Daylight Savings Time adjustment headache us IT guys went through last winter has been recinded?
They (the feds) quietly pulled the plug on thier idea of power savings and are putting the end of DST back to the last Sunday in October. Everyone start patching, lol, MS has the updates on its website if your windows updates havent caught it yet.

I think it's a conspiracy to make you IT guys go crazy. I guess it's what you get for being part of the "nerd herd".
Remember the Y2K panic, which was really much ado about nothing? I was a member of a cross-functional team that burned up a lot of hours/$ prepping for the big day; then it turned into a dronefest.

Not sure where you got that information. This was taken off of the Navy's website
Starting in 2007, daylight time begins in the United States on the
second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. On the
second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour at 2:00 a.m. local
standard time, which becomes 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. On the first
Sunday in November, clocks are set back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local
daylight time, which becomes 1:00 a.m. local standard time. These dates
were established by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Pub. L. no. 109-58,
119 Stat 594 (2005).
Not all places in the U.S. observe daylight time. In particular,
Hawaii and most of Arizona do not use it. Indiana adopted its use
beginning in 2006.
- In 2006, daylight time begins on April
2 and ends on October 29.
- In 2007, daylight time begins on March 11 and ends on November 4.
[New law goes into effect.]
- In 2008, daylight time begins on March 9 and ends on November 2.
Many other countries observe some form of "summer time", but they do
not necessarily change their clocks on the same dates as the U.S.
Daylight time and time zones in the U.S. are defined in the U.S.
Code, Title 15, Chapter 6, Subchapter IX -
Standard Time.

Setting the clocks ahead and then back is kind of a pain. Even when I lived in Hawaii, where we didn't change the clocks, it was still sort of a pain. "Is it two hours later in CA or three?" Next spring we should set the clocks ahead one hour and then leave them there. Set it and forget it! The daylight hours in the winter would take a little getting used to but once that is done it would beat having to shift back and forth twice a year.

I didn't know about the popcorn lady shutting down until yesterday when I tried to use the service and got a recording saying the service has been discontinued... there goes another one.
Back in the days of rotary phones (damn I'm getting old) I learned that in the interest of speed, you didn't actually have to dial "popcorn" for the time, 767- and any four numbers (the number 1 for faster dialing) was the same thing.
Ok, between dual zone HVAC, Tv's, VCR's, Grandfather Clock, alarm clocks, clocks on the wall, X-10 home control, front and back sprinkler systems, car clocks, microwave oven, convection oven, coffee maker, telephone answering machine, wrist watches and I'm sure I've forgot others... I used my cordless phone to call time from each location when it was time to set the clocks... whatabitch!

Kartflip, apparently (at least as I read it) the end of DST alternates which is friggin stupid if ya ask me. I didnt realize they were alternating the date when I first heard about it. Obviously I dont understand the reasoning for it either, lol.
