If memory serves me correctly, that first ASCS show last year pulled in Lasoski, Sides and Crockett and a whole mess of cars. Has anyone heard who and what we might expect this year?

I think that there's a WoO race that night, so I'm guessing none of them will show up.

Is it safe to assume the car count will be big again?

Oh yeah, all the National cars plus the Sooner Region cars. I don't know if it will be as big as it was last year, but it will be big.

I think about 45 sprints. Remember we will be minus Harry Potter and a couple others who may be runnin WoO. But some of the north drivers might make the tow. As I said before if ASCS Midwest champ Toby Chapman does well at Devil's Bowl he's gonna leave everything here and race here the following weekend. Chuck Swenson will probably race here, as will Wayne Johnson. The kicker will be if any of the Memphis area drivers or Cowtown regs come to OKC. Throw in Champ sprint on saturday night and it's gonna be a heck of a show. Anybody know if they will do the sprint bandit format like they did last year (heats AND Qualifiers)????????

well Mr. Jones I think that all depends on whether or not Swenson wins and Gary Wright finishes 2nd. I still think the Brodix ToC was bullsh*t. He's definitely the best LEGAL ASCS 360 driver up in that area. Had a hell of a run down in Florida too........legally.

Jones.........LOL!

OKCFan, what does Gary Wright finishing 2nd have to do with Chuck Swenson being illegal? Also, how was the Brodix ToC bullsh*t? Just curious, not trying to start anything. And yes Chuck is one of the best up north, agreed on that.

What?? How was the Brodix TOC bs? He had illegal heads on his motor. It had nothing to do with where Wright finished. How do you know he was legal in Florida? I'm not saying he was cheating but I am pretty sure you don't know for sure he wasn't.

why would I know if he was cheating in Florida? If Swenson has common sense you'd thing he wouldn't after the ToC. Anytime he wins he should all but know they will check his motor. My opinion on what happened in Knoxville is just that.......my opinion. I've heard thoughts facts and whatever else from different sides of it. Hard to seriously believe he would have illegal heads on the motor considering the race......and knowing it would all be checked if he won. Was it illegal heads? or was somthing they did to the heads? Yeah I still think considering some of the stuff I heard that it was flaky call. But in the end ASCS officials saw it as illegal and that was that, and I still prefer to watch ASCS over any other series in the nation, didn't change the way I looked at ASCS in any way. I've just always thought there was more to it than was stated. Like I said it's all my opinion. I don't know anything that you don't know. And neither of us know everything.

What exactly was illegal about those heads? I've already heard about 10 different answers to that, which is why I hold the opinion I do.

BTW the race itself wasn't bs. It was a great race. I, for one, didnt care for the call. and in the end it probably was the right call. The one thing that really seemed consistent was that the heads were questionale and so was the call. my opinion on it ain't no smokin gun.

The ASCS and K-ville officials knew something didn't look right and was suspicious about some stuff. Dave Rotter from Brodix happened to be there for the race and they called him the next morning to come by the track before heading to Sturgis to confirm or deny what they thought. The only people that know for a fact what was wrong is Tommy Estes, Jr., John McCoy from K-ville, Emmett Hahn, and of course Dave Rotter. Oh and I'm sure the engine builder and Mr. Swenson know as well. All Dave said was that it was "pretty blatant" and it wasn't a liitle illegal it was quite illegal.

Yes, like the call or not it was the right call as you say.

I know those heads were on another car at the Short Track Nationals in Little Rock a few months back.

I've been following this topic for a few days now. If these heads are in fact illegal like stated above, why don't Emmit(ASCS) confiscate them? Napcar does it to keep them off other tracks. What do you guys think? Too harsh a penalty? Cheatin is cheatin right? Maybe a big fine to go along with it?

Just thinking out loud here. But what are the rest of you guys thinking?

Yeah confiscating the heads would be OK. But if a driver is dumb enough to use them once and get caught, then turn around and spend all the money to tow to another race with them, let them burn fuel, tires and whatever else then don't pay them at the end of the night. But you know if a person has 1 set of cheaters, surely he has backups also. But hey, as long as Wright doesn't finish right behind them its all good.lol

The Tournament of Champioins wasn't an ASCS sanctioned race, therefore ASCS had no authority to confiscate the heads. Had that infraction occurred in an ASCS sanctioned event, the heads would have been confiscated and a one-year suspenion from all ASCS events would have been levied.
