I asked this on the Port Royal thread, but think it merits its own discussion (Sensible sorts might avoid any PR threads because of a certain PR hater...)
I was surprised to see Lance & the 69K all the way in WISCONSIN!
Is this part of a bigger plan?
Did Davey Brown make the trip?
I assume he's getting ready for the Eldora Million?

Maybe a swing through Knoxville to prep for a Nationals trip also?

Could it be the same guy who sponsor's Cisney from up there? I know Cisney made the trip to Wisconsin for the same reason last year, but I can't remember who it is.

Raced very well in the A mains, hard charger both nights. Just needs to qualify and do better in the heats to make the dash. I think he would have won his heat Saturday, but they kind of screwed him by throwing the caution when Goldsberry got out of shape but kept on going. Coutney is always killer on re-starts and LD usually takes a few laps to get moving so i knew that was trouble when the yellow came out. LD hit the tires and bounced around and that was all she wrote. I was surprised that was his first trip to Wisconsin. I kind of think they know they are getting near the end of their careers, and want to have some fun and make few road trips this year.

I would say the sponsor who got Lance to Wisconsin was Scott Cowan.
Scott is the SCA logo on the center of the 69k to wing.
Scott also owns Cisney's # 5.

Davy was at the Weikert Memorial finale at Port Royal. And guess who won ? I doubt he made the trip to Wisconsin. I am curious to see if he goes to Eldora. He probably wants to win a million as much as anybody else.

It was a great weekend for the 69K and a great sponsor that made it happen for them. As usual, the man behind the wrenches and owner of the car gets no recognition, that car would never even sniff Victory Lane without Donald working on it every night in the shop and every track that it shows up at! Great job Donald and Team 69K!

Pulled the plug on the million, I hope Davey is doing well and they have some good runs in PA when the WoO come back through.

They probably looked at the weather forecast next week and saw good chances of a juicy, tacky track. The speed difference of guys like Rico vs. the 69 putting around the bottom was pretty noticable at the Eldora Speedweek show.

You knew this shit was going to happen as soon as they put the word out about not going to eldora. Donnie runs a very successful business which I'm sure takes up a tremendous amount of time. Going to eldora right now knowing there chances are not favorable only makes good sense as a car owner. If they did go and didn't do well boy the bad mouthing would be non stop. Are the Rahmer's going ? It's a race paying a lot of money, to the winner. The 69k doesn't have many more seasons of competitive racing left in it. Enjoy it while you can, DB,sr and his tape measure will surely be missed.

The Road to the Eldora Million, a regular Friday night at Williams Grove, and the Hobby Stock class at your local track is littered with guys that lived beyond their means, one way or another - guys who "went off the porch".
If, in order to comment on this thread, you had to meet or exceed Donald Kreitz Jr.'s 40+ year record as a driver, crew chief, mechanic, tire changer, sponsor getter, and business man in an ultra-competive racing parts business - to be smarter than Donald Kreitz, Jr., this thread would have 0 replies.
Hell, Rich Farmer offered him all his stuff and he said 'thank you very much, but no'. The ROI still wasn't there.
Smart guy.

10th place pays $8000 at the Million. That is essentially what Lance would be racing for if things went very well. I've never seen so many people in such a fuss over a guy/team that would have almost no chance to run up front in this race. If Vegas were to put odds on it, he wouldn't be in the top-20.

I wish I had a race team so I could make all my decision to please multiple people with nothing invested.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

HH has always been that way -- posters without a penny invested saying that drivers or team owners financing a team are "scared" for not towing to a particular race.

Who said he "should" or has any obligation to race there?
I'm just a fan & would like to see him give it a try...
Who ever thought Tim Schaffer would win Knoxville Nationals?
Its their decision, OBVIOUSLY.......
