No one on earth gets younger.  Kinser became an also-ran by the end of his career, and everyone wanted to know what was wrong with the 11 team.  Sammy was pushing 60 by the time he became an also-ran, and everyone wanted to know what was up with Sammy.  Donny is not an also-ran, but he's going to be headed in that direction in the near future because no one can cheat father time.  Instead of facing this reality, everyone tries the Ricky Warner/Ford card.  Bull$@#$.  He's getting older.

And then there's Lance.  As great as his career in PA has been, he's not even close to the 3 guys mentioned above, regardless of the number of wins he had in his home state against them.  Take Lance from 4 or 5 years ago, and he's still not a favorite to win the Million.  It's not at the Grove, it's at Eldora.  Guys like Sweet, Larson, Macedo, Sunshine, Gravel, Marks, Schatz, Schuchart, Rico, Gio, etc. would hand him his ass outside of PA.  Let's get serious.  I was in Knoxville a few years ago when Lance showed up.  I was pumped to see him, because I had only seen him 1 or 2 times before.  However, he could not hang.  He couldn't even hang with the top Knoxville guys, let alone the heavy hitters.

Schatz is a "shell of himself" (your words) SINCE Ricky left does not mean  "shell of himself" BECAUSE Ricky left.

Bobby Allen and Stevie Smith get no love? Would they be in your top 10 list?

Beside Bob and Stevie you forgot ole Kreitzy, remember him winning track championships, big paying local races like the Tusky, several outlaw victories and let us not forget the Kings Royal victory at one of your favorite tracks. I'd move Paxton down some for The Donald. Hell I'd put Kramer Williamson in front of Paxton.

i haven't seen too many people criticizing them for not going to eldor and this is a big part of it.  despite how many races they've won...there's a quiet demeanor about the team.  they just show up and win.  no complaining about track prep, weather, or anything else.  it's nice to see somebody actually let their actions speak louder than their words.

I've not heard him complain either.  It's mostly a pissing match between Posse haters and Posse lovers.  I've not heard Lance complain.

At 58 LD has absolutely nothing to prove. Nobody on that team has anything to prove. As Donnie stated, we need to freshen things up. They've got some big paying shows coming up thru the end of the year they don't have to go anywhere to prove anything.

As for the top 10 guys in pa. Win totals are not everything. The crew chief's that made these guys fast is also impressive.

Started a new thread for it as I just saw that this morning too. Baffles me.

Agreed. I think he would have made it easily especially with split fields.

One thing I noticed (not difficult) was that Macri gets most of his wins running the top, & Lance, as usual was mostly on the bottom, which isn't the typical Eldora winning strategy....

100%...Lance's driving style is similar to Danny Lasoski's and Danny could never quite figure Eldora out despite the fact drove for Tony and I know he got a lot of practice laps there.

In my opinion, Lance is one of the top 5 drivers all-time in the current generation of sprint car racing. However, it did not surprise me one bit that Lance had a DNQ. Again, he's one of the best technical drivers and part of a very technical team, Eldora however, does not fit that style. He tried the bottom and tried the middle but that just doesn't cut it at Eldora. It's nobody's fault, it's just the way it is.

Anthony would have had an equal chance as anyone for the million dollars, and as a fan, I couldn't wait to see him. That train must've really come off the tracks for the team to give up on a chance of a lifetime.

Exactly! You might have some success running the bottom at Eldora in the A main provided it's slicked off enough, but you aren't even going to make the A main pussyfooting around the bottom in a heat race. Reminds me of Kauffman's swan song years, glued to the bottom. Probably true of most aging racers. LD also seems to lose a couple spots on the initial start of every race. You can't overcome that on an unfamiliar track against this level of competition. I'm proud of him for going out and giving it a go although I think he would have had a better chance in the 69k, considering the familiarity and success they've had. A few of the top posse drivers(won't mention any names) wouldn't even leave the porch for a million dollars. Quite frankly I find that much more embarrassing than guys that go out and fail to qualify.

All in all the pa posse guys that went to eldora were running well. Dylan was comical, mentioned how he felt port royal was fast but said this place is really fast. He won his heat race going away and I was hoping he had a top finish. The crew chief's , the good ones anyhow, really shine at that place.  I must say I was surprised by the teams that didn't go. Long shot, no question of that, but still surprising.

As good as Greg was I wouldn't put him ahead of that top 5 arguably Kreitz deserves in there but it's a tough list.

Lance was faster every time he was on-track. WTF you think he was going to climb in and win at eldora ? Nobody, I mean nobody, is ever going to do that there.

It is a rare occurrence when a driver climbs in a car and is a challenger. They usually start well and go backwards as the track slicks off. Lance mentioned after his heat race win, on a heavy track I mite add, that he just doesn't have enough laps here.

Now that the Eldora trip is over,  what happens to the 39 ? Does DK put his daughter in the seat and forgives updating things ? As this plays out it may mean the old guys rule dream team is done and the 69k rides off into the sunset. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
