What are you talking about? Sixes fans beating up Santa Claus? Haha. It was Eagles fans who booed and threw snowballs at Santa Claus and that was at Franklin Field in the late 60's.

Thanks for the correction. The actual true story was pretty funny!
Had no idea it was that long ago.... my aging memory is playing tricks on me, I was 18 when that happened

Yeah, it's those people that hide the gun and then pull it out and start shooting that are the one's to worry about and not somebody that obviously had a legal license to carry. As for as the fans being curious I would hope you all had talked a little bit before Day Three and everybody knew who everybody was. With all the rain there was plenty of time to converse. Hope it's a lot drier this year. If you're coming this year they are running the B and A Mains from June's Sprintweek show that was rained out before they ran the Mains on Wed. of the Smackdown week and admission is free.

Yea, people were friendly the whole time but really opened up after seeing me around for all 3 (actually 4) days.
Really impressed by track crew getting the place into decent racing shape Sunday after the "infield lake" saturday nite
Planning to come back this year too

I had decided to stay out of this until someone had to bring up that cesspool in the Southeast corner of the state. I can asure the people of central Pa. are head and shoulders above what lives in that place. You can call us Hillbillies if you want but we never be as low as Philly.
One of the funniest things that I have seen in this whole thread is the original poster's quote of his friend's assessment of the place and then being horrified when the locals used the same language.

The crack about "New Yorkers dropped in a trailer park" really got me cause I was born in NYC, moved to small town rural Virginny at the tender age of 10, where the closest kids to play with were honest to God true life hillbillies, no running water, outhouse, two 49 Fords in the yard.... talk about culture shock! Thats where I got hooked on dirt track racing (early1960s)
So I appreciate both worlds.... & a Sixer fan since Chamberlain vs. Russell era...

going to be hard to top thinking of yourself as a fan when the measure is a 10 year old kid cussing out the competition. Who didn't love Tanner Boyle - "Poop-face? Are you kidding me? Elmo flips better shit than you!"
The greatest knowledge is to know that you know nothing
at all.

I saw a dead bear on the road betwen Harrisburg & Wilkes Barre once. I read Pa. is 56% forest.
I like it!
