I'm extremly jelous of the folk in Indiana that have all the great tracks out there...I would love to have a second home there someday if I ever hit the lotto.

I also love the fact that I'm Posse...I'm part of some of the most loyal and passionate fans you will come across...

Everyone enjoy and love this sport...Its not going to be around forever.  All this BS going on here just ruins it.

Go out and support your local tracks this week.  PLEASE

I hope you get what I meant by that like button post. I honestly liked your post. Well put.

Your full of shit. Half of that shit didnt happen. The bathrooms are not outdated compared to 90% of the tracks in the world. The food is over priced but that doesnt matter its a fuckin racetrack. Bring your own shit. The racing was good. We have better fsns. More fans and better top funded teams. Kasey kahne holds races in pa for a reason. Tony stewart holds races in pa for a reason. The national open is at wg for a reason. Wg pays more for the big events for a reason. Go back to ohio and watch a 60 car field where 50 of those cars will never win a race. Car counts dont matter. Quality does. Ask tony stewart kasey kahne donny schatz or any woo ddriver where the best racing is in the country and every single one of them will say pa. Like I said before,  go back to ohio. And dont come back around cause u have no idea what your talking about.

Easy to see right away, that you may have been one that he ran accross during his visit. Although you must be well travelled to be able to comment on 90% of the tracks in the world! Love your use of vulgarity, too, by the way! That really gets your point accross. Actually, I think it gets his point accross!

well, this more or less personifies exactly what I was talking about. I never said anything about "car counts". in fact I even praised the quality of cars the centra PA area has. however, your abysmal grammar and foul language are exactly what I was talking about. I have ZERO reason to lie or fabricate anything. Did anyone harass me sitting in the turn 4 grandstands? No. infact the guys we sat by were casual sprint car fans and were very fun to talk with.  I did hear a lot of crap yelled my way walking around in the infield. Am I going to cry and never come back? No. I still had fun. I wanted to point out (and believe it or not you are helping make my point) that 5% of the fans can ruin the experiance for new people to the track. You can think whatever you want of me. I could not care any less. But thank you. Thank you for getting on your phone or computer after a long night of pounding beers and mostly likely, your sister, and telling me I am not welcome to come back.

Granted, some Posse fans are idiots and some are not. But I am not sure I buy the heckling story. I live near Port Royal and every WoO race at the Grove I wear one of my many Sammy Swindell tshirts. Now as much as people hate him I've never had one single person say a word to me in many, many years of doing so. Does the facitlity need help, oh yes. Come to Port if you are looking for one of the nicer tracks in central Pa.

I buy it. It happened to me when I went to the Grove. But in my case I was wearing a Greg Hodnett 8tw shirt before he got fired off of the Tour. Now he "belongs to them."

Talk about irony

sorry but i call bs about being ridiculed by dozens of fans and people getting in your face over a tshirt... i goto the grove every week and will wear a fred rahmer shirt one week and a donny schatz the next...ive never had anyone get in my face or make me feel uncomfortable in 25+ years over which driver's shirt im wearing...

i agree about the food being over priced, but if you think the bathrooms are outdated and bad at the grove, don't bother going to lincoln or port..

ive never seen too many people claiming williams grove is the best track in the country or anything of the such...most grove regulars would probably tell you how much the track has gone down hill since the death of morgan hughes... the grove is just the central "battleground" of the outlaws and the posse and home to a large amount of passionate sprint car fans..yes some have too much to drink and can be rude and obnoxious, but thats common at lots of tracks.. i doubt you wouldve been hard pressed to find drunk and obnoxious fans at eldora 2 weeks ago either..

Maybe they need armed policemen in the stands at the Grove to make sure noone gets taunted about the tshirt they are wearing, Jeesh! If you let some teasing and taunting about your t shirt ruin your night, thats on you Beero. Your complaining because Pa fans bragged about our tracks, scene, and drivers on hoseheads and you were let down because it didnt meet your expectations? Such is life my man, not sure what you thought a 3000 word, politically correct essay spewed onto a public forum would do to rectify the situation. My advice to you would be get a suit of armour, ear plugs and a blindfold and you will be able to go to the races or anywhere and you will never be forced to look at a rebel flag or deal with a PFA (posse fanatic with an attitude), but best of all no one can tease you about your t shirt. Enjoy the races!

I was born and raised near Altoona PA in Blair County. I have attended races at Williams Grove, Selinsgrove, Path Valley, Trailway, Lincoln, Port Royal, Susquehanna, Bedford, Hagerstown, Hesston, Everett (when it existed), Silver Spring. Keith Kauffman is still my favorite driver. So yeah, I've been to a race in Central PA. Let me ask you one thing, have you ever been to a race outside of Central PA? I have - 20 years in the military took me to places where I saw some great racing. 3 years in California where I saw some GREAT racing at places like Petaluma, Calistoga, Chico, Placerville, and even Bakersfield, Perris, and Ventura, and 3 years in Nebraska where places like Knoxville & Eagle were available. Now I live where places like Eldora, Lima, Waynesfield, and the bullrings of Indiana are within a few hours drive. Dirt Brother - I am jealous of nothing from Central PA. Trust me! So I say again, you are a perfect example of the obnoxious, arrogant PA fan.

I want to preface my story with a little background information about myself. I'm from Missouri and have been attending Sprint Car/dirt racing events my entire life. I raced micro sprints while in highschool and a midget for 1 year. I have been to every Knoxville Nationals since 1993. Racing is something I share with my entire family, and we have a great time enjoying it together. Sammy has been my favorite driver from the very start (my initials are TMC).

I went to The Grove when I was around 10-12 maybe (at least 12 years ago). My family was on a vacation and we had spent the day sight seeing at Gettysburg. My grandpa called my mom and told us that the Outlaws were at WG that evening, so we decided to head that way. I knew what WG was and I knew what the "Posse" was, but not to the extent that I knew a whole lot about the whole "Posse" culture as far as fandom goes.

We sat on the front stretch relatively close to the flag stand. I don't remember a single thing about the crowd, bathrooms, food, or atmosphere other than Steve Kinser getting booed. The racing was good as far as I can remember. The part that vividly sticks out in my memory is the last 10 laps of the A main.

Steve had led the race from the drop of the green. However, a guy I had never heard of before (I knew plenty of PA guys at this time too, but mostly the bigger name guys who traveled to Knoxville and a few others) was giving him a run for his money. They had an absolute battle in the closing laps of the race. Coming out of two, this mystery driver used the bottom groove to pull up alongside Steve. A slidejob in turns 3-4 gave him the lead, and the crowd went insane. I was cheering just as much as anyone! I knew he was an underdog, because he was trying to pass Steve Kinser, and I always pull for the underdog. The race finished, and Steve finished second to the man I didn't know. When he pulled into victory lane, the announcer proclaimed that "Donny Kreitz" was tonight's feature winner. What an awesome moment that was. I will remember it until the day I die.

From that day forward, I was a posse fan. I've always loved Hodnett and the beautiful Apple 12, as well as Lance in the Hamilton 77 (and 461), and I always liked The Skunk! I've bought T-shirts from as many drivers as I can, and will continue to do so, as they have some good ones up East!

That night, before the race, my mom took me to the souvenir shop and I got a williams grove track shirt. It was grey and had a lot of bright colors on it. I had such a fond memory of that night with my family, that I wore that shirt until the holes in the armpits were to big to hide. I dream of one day coming back. I want to go to Lincoln, Port, and Grandview.

Point of my story is that as a boy, I went to PA not knowing what the Posse was really all about. I didn't have a bad experience, in fact it was quite the opposite. But, I saw the passion first hand. And that passion burns white hot. I don't doubt stories like beero's, because passion, rivalry, and liquor can be a dangerous combination. But I also believe that the majority of PA fans are resectable people who love this sport as much as I do. A few bad apples ruin the bunch.

Sorry for the long winded story, just thought I'd share my experience!

Thank you for sharing your positive experience. It's refreshing after reading all the negative comments. Glad that you had an opportunity  to tour Gettysburg National Park.

So you've been to Ohio twice and Iowa once. That makes you an expert on what constitutes great sprint car racing. Just stop while you are ahead Dirt Brother - you are just making yourself look like an even bigger fool with each post you make. Stop trying to stir up crap.
