Just to make sure here, what your saying is that arguably the best funded ride in PA isn't as strong as the too world of outlaw rides? I'm reading that right? Because you sure said differently when the streak of consecutive pa wins was at 9 over the WoO....and yes the entire state of CA (the most populated state in the country) does turn out a few more too notch drivers than central pa. Of course that's all of CA, were talking about 4 counties or so in PA with about 25 million less people. Nothern CA claims Tyler walker from Los Angeles, how far away? yet Central PA doesn't claim Tim Shaffer, Ed Lynch, Danny Holtgraver...even though they are less than 200 miles from central pa, living in PA..
Double standards? Hypocrisy? Just maybe.

There is definitely a double-standard.
Without a doubt, Tim Kaeding is unbelievable, on and off the porch. And Kyle Larson is in a class of his own. There are no questions about that.

On a different note, I can't wait to see what Cole Duncan does in the Farmer 29 in Ohio this year.

There has always been "0" winged sprint car racing in Southern Ca, except for 1 WoO race at Perris, and hadnt been any for the last few years. When racing in Ca, Tyler Walker had always raced in Nor Cal with NARC and Golden State, so I can see why Nor Cal fans recognized him as a Nor Cal driver, who just happened to be grow up in So Cal. If Central Pa fans chooses to exclude non Central Pa drivers who race locally in Central PA, id suggest that's a complex its fans need to get over.

Maybe you weren't a member of the board then, but I'm pretty sure cubic claimed the 2010 Knoxville Nationals as a Posse win when it was Tim Shaffer winning it. Do a search on the site, everyone on here, including the CA group, ripped him to shreds for claiming another guy. Tim Shaffer isn't a Posse member, not since the #12 days. Don't get me wrong, Cubics posts are insane, but I'm fairly confident he smiles when he hits enter. NOBODY here would let the Posse count that as a win, including PA fans. Rightly so. Doesn't change the fact that Tim Shaffer is from PA, born and raised, and won that race. Do you want to compare states, or sanctioning bodies?? Nobody here can seem to decide.

Question I have is do the majority of Pa fans count Shaffer as PA Posse or not? I recall many weren't claiming him as Posse since he is from Western Pa and didn't race at the Central Pa tracks that often and raced for the ASCoC series. Is Pa Posse defined by the tracks you run, the owner you race for or for being from Pa? Was Jimmy Sills considered Pa Posse when he drove the Weikert's Livestock car back in the late 80's? We all know Cubic's opinion always depends on what happened the night before at the track. There is no double standard that I see from Ca fans. If you are a winged sprint car driver who cut your teeth on Ca tracks, they recognize you as such with open arms always and forever.

I was thinking about getting him arrested and sentenced to life on Posse soil... ;)

I think cubic was it as far as
Considering Shaffer posse. I know he was hanging out a lot in central PA after the parsons ride, before the 83,
I know he ran some for bob Stewart back in the day. Bottom line is crowd reaction at grove was pretty high when Hodnett went by him for the lead at a race in 09-10, not sure which one. Lucas Wolfe seems to carry the most local support after leaving. Had he won at Grove/Lincoln while he was with the outlaws, pa fans wouldn't have had a problem partying afterwards. He hasn't done bad in a better financed ride either. Even when Cody won last year at Williams Grove, the WoO press bragged about him like he's never seen PA. I'm a fan of him, but He got his ass kicked here plenty too, and was a 5-10 level driver while he was here.

LatshPA, you make very good points. And, at least to me, represent a level headed sprint car fan that I respect. I appreciate you making strong arguments supporting your local racers without being outlandish...that is how fans are supposed to be...Thank you! I don't have dog in the fight, I am not from Cali, nor am I from anywhere near PA...But I am a sprint car fan who has been both places to watch races. Both Cali (especially Norcal) and PA have GREAT drivers, great teams and both put on a great show! What is not to love about that.

Whatever happened to that Wainwright 61 car that Tim Shaffer was driving on and off in Central PA anyway? I assume it wasn't a particularly local car, but all the same, I don't think we ever saw it again after Shaffer landed the 83 ride.
Did anyone else ever drive it?

Cole Duncan, a solid talent out of West Virginia... great to see him race in PA.
But no, he is not Posse, nor would I claim him.
