By next year Macri will be gone and your guy who ever that is might have a chance to win. I case you have not been paying attention Macri and Logan are known for running the wall, but as Lance said Sat. night Macri can run anywhere on the track when he needs to and that makes it hard to defend the lead against him. As far as undesrvingly, I am not sure where you are going with that.
|
It sounds like sour grapes from a guy that doesn't like Macri. For 1 Macri went from 8 to 5th in a stacked heat(was up to 3rd or 4th before a caution negated the lap). Secondly the winning pass Saturday night was made off the top of 3-4, not 1-2 where this supposedly unfair guide rail exists. Like you said Macri raced high and low going where they ain't to pass cars. Lance was able to go from 7th to the lead without running the wall. I'm sure a lot of people are getting tired of seeing Macri and Wagner dominate at Port but you got to hand it to them. They are currently the best at the track.

Cars were running above the cushion? No fair! I sure hope they put out some cones and put a stop to that!

I hate to tell you but your all time favorite didn't run the top as much later in his career and I am sure would not want to run those rough tracks with the big cushions at today's speeds. Another thing you never consider is that I am pretty sure you could not do it with today's cars. You might want to direct some of your ire at the car and parts manufacturers and start telling them how to do their job.

I like watching him but that may be pushing it just yet. Do keep in mind though that he has not had his 23rd birthday yet.

Macri is very good and has a bright future for sure. PA is not the country though, taking the 8 World of Outlaws races only that Macri has been in this year the points just from those races look like this (followed by wins, top 5s, top 10s in those 8 races).:
1. Gravel 1122 (1, 5, 8)
2. Schatz 1088 (1, 3, 6)
3. Sheldon 1086 (2, 4, 6)
4. Schuhardt 1072 (1, 4, 6)
5. Sweet 1050 (0, 2, 5) Top 5's is 2nd tiebreaker after wins
6. McFadden 1050 (0, 1, 5)
7. Macedo 1040 (0, 3, 6) Includes the DQ 26th place
8. Bayston 1038 (1, 2, 5)
9. Allen 1018 (1, 2, 3) Wins is first tiebreaker
10. Macri 1018 (0, 3, 4)
11. Zearfoss 982 (0, 0, 1)
This tells me he isn't quite top 5 in the country and like I said I really like him and think he could run top 5 in WoO points someday, but not today. 10th most points in the 8 race sample size and this doesn't factor in argueably as good drivers like Courtney, Peck, PPM, Scelzi, Deitrich, Marks, Madsen, Eliason etc...
Not trying to down Macri at all I wanted to see how he stacked up myself and it appears battling with Jacob Allen for 9th in WoO points. Don't shoot the messenger!!!!!

You're dead on the money. Macri is a threat anywhere in PA. That's for sure and I think he may even be capable of winning off the porch against the WoO. He definitely could against the All Stars but top 5 in the country for someone who has yet to win a WoO race is a bridge too far. Definitely an argument can be made for him to be in back half of the top 10. Fact is, he definitely will win an outlaw race some day, but he hasn't yet. I personally think he'll check that off the list this season at some point. Most likely at Port Royal where he's without any question, the best car. He's flat out dominant at Port. He's certainly capable of beating them at Williams Grove or Lincoln as well.

A little off topic but still about Macri..I heard, don't know if true but he is an airline pilot..If so who with and for a big company..Looks to have the talent but not top 10 in WOO yet..Will win this year in a close race when he does and it will be big for him..

I believe you're thinking of Logan Wagner. He is a pilot, but not with a major carrier. I believes he flies corporate-style jets for a living.

I'm not going to read all the responses but I will say this...
I've never been out eat to watch a race in person. Not Williams Grove or Port Royal. I'd like to visit both tracks some day. From my perspective the racing at Port Royal is better. I have zero bias on either place, but just watching the racing at either track from the highlights or on Dirt Vision, I'll pick Port Royal to have the better racing.
Sorry BStraws

Selinsgrove was actually amazing Satyurday night. Track was dry for the heats but after a little water was put down on the bottom and top, the track came to life with the cushion up where it should be. Mark Smith's drive from 14th to the win was incredible, ripping the lip as they say. Unfortunately there wasn't many there to witness as the 360's just don't draw a crowd anymore. Got home in time to watch Lincoln which was underwhelming, everyone on the bottom of 1-2 and the top of 3-4 after a few laps of good racing. Wierd track and probably the worst they've had this year.
