Mexicans work their asses off. They're not sharing your money, they're earning their own

You are correct. They make their own, and do not share. we make our own, and are forced to share more and more of it.

Sorry, I'm not getting it. I must have missed something. Can someone explain the connection between Lance Dewease out of a ride and immigrants? Is an illegal taking his ride ???

Tell again me why I keep coming here.....gators' jounalism and a few other friendly posters are the only thing that saves the place.

Government taking all the engine, tire, etc, money - you're not serious, are you?

Keep voting for the Democrats, who would like nothing more than to take what's left of our disposable income (the money used for racing) and share it with an illegal immigrant. Stupid-uninformed electorate!

Shut the fuck up. Seriously.

You hit the nail directly on the head Cubic.  It would be great if we could adopt the SOD rules here in PA but keep our current weight rule.  I believe we would see car counts begin to increase again over time.

It's a double-edged sword. A heavier car also requires more HP to go fast. HP costs money and the engine is by far the most expensive component. In some cases the light-weight titanium parts are actually stronger and last longer than their steel counterparts. I'm not so sure the weight rule has saved much money if any because the teams still run the same lightweight stuff and just add weight where it benefits the set-up.

It sucks that LD is losing his ride. I've always been a fan and he's a legend but lets face it, he has struggled badly the last few years and really hasn't had great season in over a decade. Teams come and teams go every year and 410 racing is always gonna be expensive. No reason to hit the panic button though. There may not be many big budget rides left but car counts are about the same now as they were 15 years ago.

I think wehat we saw Sunday at the Tuscarora 50 was sort of a changing of the guard. On a balls out track with the cushion up close to the rail, you saw the younger guys like Marks, Dietrich and Sheldon Haudenschild running up there at incredible speeds, inches from the wall lapping guys that used to run up there in their younger days like Shaffer, Lance, the elder Haud. Greg wouldn't even go up there.

Lance Dewease is a great guy and driver , hopefully he lands something good ?  guys that know a lot about a car are hard to find as well . Racing is not the same without Lance  battling either Todd or someone .

The average American has $38 of their annual taxes go towards welfare and $3000 towards corporate welfare, but yeah it's the illegals and lazy welfare people that are ruining this country, not corporate greed - not the ones who spend money to rig our political system, send jobs overseas and steal money right from our unsuspecting pockets. Don't even get me started on the insane cost of maintaining our war machine(largest part of our GDP) and how much of that money goes right into the pockets of politicians and their contributors. Trickle-up economics in which working people have enough capital to spend has always worked better than trickle-down economics. Your side has destroyed the middle class because apparently they hate the idea of working people making a good living and love the idea of billionaires making even more money. I guess somehow they earn and deserve it but people who bust their back should live on $10/hr. or have their job sent to China. You should stick to fauxnews.

And just what is happening to Union Miners in WVa, Kentucky & other places. Losing a 70,000+ a year job has to hurt.

Good luck on landing a ride Lance.

Ok so what changes are needed?  Almost daily everybody has the problems identified, but nobody has any actual solutions. IMO there is not one fix-all solution that can cure all problems, its a top down problem, and everyone invested is part of the problem, and without everybody working together, there will not be any true solutions.

I am surpised that nobody noted what Sprints on Dirt are planning for next year.

15 inch RR that measures about 100 inches around , 12 inch LR.  No weight rule and no engine size rule.

One thing Lance pointed out was the purse structure.  This is one thing that I love about the RaceSaver 305's in alot of locations.  Yes we only race for $300 to win, but we get $130 to take the green.  The 358's in Central PA are $1,200 to win and $125 to take the green.  410's are around $3,500 to win but only $300 to take the green.

To some extent it is always going to be those with a big budget and those with a not so big budget.  You can put all kinds of restrictions and rules, but there will always be (and it's part of the whole racing thing) Racers who will learn how to make up for those rules & restrictions.  Finding the edge; doing something new & different.  And a lot of times it's not money; it's being inventive, proactive, learning, trial and error.  The cars already too much a like.  Their needs to be changes.  Before you turn the whole deal into IROC; let's go back to being innovative and forward thinking.  Let's go back to adjustable shocks, dish wings, wicker bills.......   Good heavens the racing was SO GOOD then.  Handicapping didn't make for boring races and neither did heavy tracks during the heat races until you took away the ability to make your car better while on the track.

Hate to take the bait on political issues, but Medicaid/Food Stamps/welfare cash payments  are three of the biggest drivers in Federal AND State budgets. I'd like to see documentation (other than from PMSN talking heads) that shows the accuracy of the $38 figure! I pay over $10,000 a year in federal taxes and I will quarentee you more than $38 of that goes to welfare. Corporate welfare needs reviewed as well, but at least those corps are providing jobs.

Hope Lance gets a ride next year, but quality car owners are few and far between. I'm not real optomistic about his future.

Did a quick search and found a chart that had welfare spending for 2014 at around 450 billion. Since there is not one billion tax payers in the country I am pretty sure it is more than $38 per tax payer.
