Unfortunately he will ruin someone's run in both the 360s and 410 nationals. I've seen him run over others right rears and flip himself under a damn yellow

How about California's Danielle Simpson and Lernerville's Francis Sesco. Friday at Lernerville Sesco destroyed 4 other race cars in his heat, including his own, they repaired his car to get him back out in the feature and he destroyed Jack Sodeman sending him to the hospital injured and out of commission for most likely the rest of the season then proceeded to take out the leader Brandon Matus as a lapped car later in the race.
I've never seen this Shawn Peterson character and by the sounds of it, I don't want to.

I do not see his name listed in either the 360 or 410 Nationals...Sure he will be there?

I'm all for new people joining the sport and understand its tough to develop the skill and ability. I have no problem with
him being a squirrel. However, if he's out blaming everyone but himself then thats where I lose my respect for him.
Should be interesting to wach if he makes the invert on his qualifying night.

After reading this, I watched very close Saturday and never saw anything that justified this post. Granted this is the first time I really got to watch him. If I drove at Knoxville, there are a couple of other guys I would be more afraid to start next to who crash almost weekly. I would love to have their crash budget through July so I could buy a car and motor to race there!

He looked much better this week than last (although the track wasn't nearly as slick this week and more forgiving (for everyone).
The 39x car in the 305's was still PAINFULLY slow and couldn't hold a line however. I noticed he pulled in quickly after being lapped in the feature (he finished 3 laps down in a 6 lap heat race however).

Let's go back to 600 minisprints then. You don't start any race by repeatedly driving up and into the outside car, beating and banging on the car. This he has done at Cowtown.

No...you're thinking of Russ Wheeler....when Cole Trickle had his crew change his tires after a race so he could go run thru Russ Wheelers car on the victory lap....hahahahahaha
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

I know this has nothing to do with the way he drives but the word is that the driver of the 4x Shawn Peterson donated a rear tire to Robert Bell.

Yes it's true I read about it under the Robert Bell tire fund. The guy that started the fund for Robert Bell had a very nice post thanking those that have stepped up to the cause and low and behold Shawn donated a new right rear. So now they are collecting to get a left rear fuel etc. Way to go Shawn. Hats off to you. Hey and some people also posted how much better he looked last Sat night. Hang in there you'll get better but again people need to thank Shawn for his donation. Thanks

FWIW, he does this a lot - donate stuff to local guys and without any bragging. If a guy is up against the wall him or his guys will come through.
So he's not an evil person, just a marginal driver.

Good post. I think people need to consider that this is someone who is obviously a very successful business man and has a great deal of money to spend. He has chosen to spend a great amount of that money on sprint car racing. That's not a bad thing. Looks to me like he has a great love for the sport. He may have ruffled some feathers here and there. I'm sure with experience that will get better. It's too easy to get on these internet forums and be venomous and there is way too much of that on these boards.

Before everyone starts giving him big pats on the back for his good intentions......
Don't forget that he played a major part in getting Cowtown Speedway Closed...........:( Most likely will never open again.

Shawn has helped out a lot of racers here in TX, he fields a LOT of cars, from sprints to micros. As far as Cowtown goes, I haven't seen any proof to support the accusation. I was at KSP a couple of weeks ago and there is a lot of work going on at Cowtown, so not all is lost.

I was luck enough that he donated my front wing for me to the local scrap yard. I was 1 of the guys he crashed out in Texarkana. The really bad part he has more laps than just about any other sprint driver out there this year, he has rented several tracks several times.

I was thinking the same thing.
However if he's being an ass blaming everyone else for his inexperience I can understand the reaction.
