No, just his crew chief. And Schatz's. And Mcmahan's. Posse seem to be pulling the strings behind the scenes. 80% car, 20% driver....

No the crew chiefs aren't Posse either. They're Mecenaries that choose to go with Winners!

Oh the influence of Cubes on this board.
Back to topic, Larson out drove TK on the top, when do you ever see that happen? The moves he's made this past 5 days make me realize we're seeing something special, not that I didn't know before, but 24th to 7th at Eldora with no cautions and 25th to 2nd at a place he's never seen against the best in the business? Come on

Bingo! We as Californian fans have been annoying the rest of the fans from across the country for years with our grandstanding about Larson. Now the rest of the country gets it. He is something to behold behind the wheel of a sprint car. I love this quote from Kyle that was on the pennlive website about last night:
“If you look at my career, I'm a terrible qualifier,” Larson said. “I must have started dead last 20 times, and I just attack to begin the race.
“I think it makes me a better driver. I would rather be a better racer than a qualifier.”
-------------------
That is precisely the opposite of someone like Danica and its what seperates him from the fold.
Cheers!

I don't blame ya, if any other region in the country could call a talent like Kyle their own, we wouldn't hear the end of it either...
Can he dethrone Donny at Nationals this year...?

Whats incredible about Larson's finishes is when you begin looking at the sum total of his regular achievements. He passes so many good cars night in and out. Look at these stats and the respective starting positions from just the past few weeks alone:
Waynesfield, Ohio (Ohio Speedweek) -5th to 2nd
Wayne County, Ohio (Ohio Speedweek) -21st to 6th
Fremont, Ohio (Ohio Speedweek) -21st to 2nd
Knoxville, Iowa (Twin Features Night) -Main #1 - 11th to 3rd -Main #2 - 15th up to 2nd when torsion stop came off sending him flipping in turn 2 ending a great run to the front
Eldora Speedway (Knight Before the Kings Royal) (WoO) -24th to 7th (nearly getting by Shatz for 6th at the finish line)
Lernerville Speedway (WoO) -main #2 - 26th to 2nd
|
Great that he keeps moving up positions, and he did put on a hell of a show last night but, do you notice anything missing in your post?????
Passed more cars then anyone i'm sure, but there are no wins!!!!
I am a Larson fan, even bought a shirt, but his crybaby rant about Eldora not waitingfor him for 10-15 minutes so he could qualify on Saturday night at the Kings Royal kind of bothered me. Not there fault you race so much and fly back and forth all the time. The stayed on schedule, which is what they should have done.
He is an awesome talent, but like all others, deserves no special treatment.
And, if Pittman or Saldana can't win at the Grove this weekend, i hope he shows up and wins one.

Raz, how in the health are ya', a Posse sprint car driver I can call a friend, lol. I almost want to disagree with you on the 'special treatment' for the kid. Heck, if he is gonna bust his butt travelling all over the place to come and entertain us, the least we can do is try to accomodate him somehow. A few minutes here and there would certainly be worth it to the fans since he rarely puts on anything but a SHOW. Otgher than that, how's your golf game, how's the bro's bowling and send me a picture of the kids they're probably as big as you these days, all the best.....

I don't think he said anywhere at Darrah is Posse, lol. His point is every week there are 4 threads about how GREAT the California racing scene is, you can't really complain about chestbumping from the Posse fans.
|
Come'on now, reading comprehension cant be this hard for you. You really dont think mentioning Darrah in the same post as Posse drivers like Hodnett and Marks isn't alluding to him being Posse? I realise he only said "The Outlaw Driver from Pa", but why bring him up at all, just because he is from Pa?
Personally, i dont care where a driver is from, if you can wheel a sprint car, then you can wheel a sprint car, outlaw, posse, Ca or other drivers. BTW, i get sick of the Ca regional pumpers on here as well.

Larson is fun to watch,he is talented to say the least but he is always coming from the back for a reason...when he does put his qualifying together he will be winning from the front row and it will get boring just like Schatz. Then we wont be saying how amazing he is passing all the cars he always does cause he wont pass anybody from the front row.For now I will enjoy Larson but I do fear he is close to putting it alltogether and when he does it will be boring till the next guy comes along impressing us with passing in the Outlaw series cause it is a rare thing to see PASSING

Old wives tale rears it's ugly head. There is often lots of passing at an Outlaws show, it may not always be for the lead but you can generally find a few guys putting on a show most nights. Are the folks who say there is no passing only watching the leader, if so you are in the wrong sport to begin with.....

Yeah your right, its just not always for the lead........If your watching backpackers and not the lead then why do you watch?
you go to a racetrack to watch to see who is ultimately the winner I thought? All the guys passing in the pack dont mean nothing if they dont win......Take Larson for example.....If he dont start winning lots of races to back up all the passing he does then in 10 years you going to come on here and say remember Larson and all the passing he used to do but rarely won a race??????I am not knocking the Outlaws cause I love watching them, would love to see Larson battling for wins versus always being the hard charger that dont win shit if you know what I mean?If not then keep arguing for for the hell of then i guess.I am also a victim of going to Eldora to much where passing for the lead alot is Rare cause of the parade of bullshit that it usually is........I need to venture to more racy tracks and hopefully my view will be what yours is instead of follow the leader heat races and somebody always coming from the back but falling short cause this guy or another guy started on the front row and the cars are to equal at this particular track

Just to set the record straight this was Brents second time at Lernerville, first in three years and he finished in the top ten in the first 30. It was nice of Schatz to apoligize for distroying Brents car in the second 30 I wonder if Tony will help out a family run team with a new car?
Any Pa. fan that saw Larson last night or Thursday at Lima if they are truly a race fan can say nothing but good things.

Too bad he couldnt go full time with the Outlaws. He would give them boys a run for their money I do believe.

I think its old news by now, "Kyle is unreal" in any open wheel car he drives whether it be midgets, wing/non wing sprints, pavement, dirt, modified's on pavements, etc. Even the Nascar guys think highly of him, but his results so far have not been spectacular, but just very good and ahead of the curve. Would of been nice to see Kyle run one full season with the outlaws, but I think it has been fun watching him race in a varitey of series and in most cases win. I think it is really hard to jump in a variety of series/cars/crew chiefs and achieve what Kyle already has down.

Hey, I have to give the kid credit. After getting his ass handed to him and not being able to make it out of the C-main the first couple of times he tried to take on the Posse, he hired the best Posse free agent he could get his hands on to turn his wrenches. Larson definitely learns quick.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

MSPN, They have Television Eyes, Meaning that is all they see just like the camera missing all the action !!!!!!
The 1 guy says wins are missing. I think he is missing. The kid is doing more than anybody out there at this point and time. He has an excellent resume already & with the runs he is doing is getting talked about more than who won. BTW who did win !!!!

The fact is when Larson comes to Posse territory he hasn't done anything YET. We all know that he has talent and he's the best racer anyone has seen in a while and of course a lot of it has to do with the fact that he hasn't seen the tracks many times but there are TONS of tracks that he hasn't seen much and he does well. When he comes to Central PA he is stuck in the C or B Main. Hell, he did so well at Ohio Speedweek and didn't even hit 1 of the PA Speedweek races so we'll see if he even shows up this weekend.

You want to judge a guy on his worst runs in a winged sprintcar the past two seasons, go rite ahead. If you want to judge how good he is in a sprintcar, Watch Kyle at The Gold Cup in Chico. He will lap any posse member who shows up that can actually make the A against the Cali Clique.

We are as much Posse fans as folks can be from 580 miles away, but to deny how good this kid is, is absurd. We have seen him race from the east coast to the west. He is amazing.
