Great 4 days of racing.  Headed out of Florida now for work  Great job all 40+ who gave it a go.  Congrats Gravel on the gator. Gravel and Scelzi earnng top 2 in points for the 4 days.  Gravel, Scelzi, Courtney and Schatz only drivers to top 10 all 4 races, great consistency and speed shown. Cool to see Sheldon bounce that team back after rough 3 nights mechanically. Massive crowd last night.  Great event as always.

If you have not been to a doctor and had an official diagnosis to your condition, I will give it to you.  Please look up the word "narcissist."  You are amongst the .5-1% of the population with this condition.  We know you cannot help it, but with a little research, and self-help, you could get your condition under control.  If you don't do anything about it, you are going to continue to state opinions as facts, and will continue to start sentences with "that is all i wanted to say" before then posting another 30 times with the same, exact subject matter full of your elusive "facts."   If that is indeed all you wanted to say------you don't need to respond to this at all.  You can just research your condition.

Just what we need.  A WoO HL recap and debate after every race all season long.  Volusia is an outlier that chews up new motors before the season really gets going.  I watched four nights of good racing with a few exciting moments without having to leave the house in February.  That is a win for the viewers.  My apologies to Chris Stepan the Modified announcer.  Chris did the pill draw at the back gate and announcing at Cedar Lake back when I was signing in to take photos.  Sorry Chris, I changed channels to USAC while he was announcing the Mods at Volusia.

The pendulum is going to swing back and forth all season when WoO and HL drivers go head to head.  Nobody is questioning whether or not there is talent in both series.  HL drivers that never followed a tour will become seasoned travelers by this summer.  Meanwhile Brian Brown and Macri who aren't signed on with either had decent weekends as well.  Like I said a month ago, TV watching is going to be awesome but there will be fewer fan favorites at WoO races in some markets that HL doesn't get into.  IRA looks to be getting over this way and our neighbor has two new chassis and 410's so there is plenty of racing aside from the touring stuff that only comes around a couple times per season.

So the HL guys get to take the outlaws money and don't have to worry about the outlaw drivers getting any of the HL money. Sounds like a helluva deal to me. Sounds like the fans are getting a helluva bargain too with quality field in the mid 40's. Has VRP ever had a car count that high? Each series has 12 drivers at VRP. Without provisionals, the outlaws would be putting in less cars than the HL guys. And its not just Bill Rose using them. Haud, Macedo, and Balog have had to use them. Take away the dozen HL guys and the quality of that field gets diminished quite a bit. If this trend continues of HL guys winning like this, the outlaws will have no choice but to let their guys go and race HL shows and try to win against them to try and save face. And when that happens, we the fans win.

Sounds good to me! :)

I've been accused of being narcisstic. A title I don't want so when I learned that narcs always have to have the last word, I just stopped trying to have the last word. That simple sungle choice has made a world of difference in debates and tense comversations. Maybe we could all try that just to prove the name callers wrong

Hmm, checking the point standings on the outlaws website shows 4 of the top 7 are outlaws, 3 are high-limit after the first 4 races.  One could say the outlaws came out on top.  Okay, who is going to see the numbers a different way.....come on, you know you want to!

Yeah the outlaw drivers just won 2 out of 4 WoO races, but I predict the High Limit drivers will win 100% of the upcoming Florida H-L races. wink

There is a few guys who are not commited to either series who might have something to say about that.

That's possible. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Anthony Macri and Brian Brown. Who else fits in that category?

My first thought when all this went down was that this season will be a streamers paradise, local WoO shows will be missing a few familiar drivers and HL is nothing more than a TV show where I live.  I can see that I missed something in my initial assessment.  The social media and message board battles are going to be epic after every race.

One thing I have learned is that whatever I expected to be the story line of the season is usually way off.  Something we didn't think of often becomes the story line that dominates the conversation.  I wonder what that will be?

I could care less whether the winner comes from HL or the WoO's. Just so they put on a good race is all I care about. It sucks that the WoO has such control over their cars. That is one thing I have have never liked about the WoO's. These guys race for a living and should be able to race whenever and where ever they want to race.  As for Chris Stepen announcing the modified and late models at tracks that the sprint cars run. I like that. He is and always has been a very good announcer. I don't have to turn the volume down when he announces.

Don't let facts get in the way.............................................there are some that are claiming that although the winner of the Gator was an Outlaw, the top 2 points getters through the first 4 races were Outlaws, 4 of the top 7 are Outlaws, and Outlaw drivers won 2 of the first 4 races, somehow they were dominated in those 4 races and their demise in imminent.

While we're at it, I'm assuming there was at least one Outlaw driver that got extra work area time in at least 1 race...............why haven't we heard about this yet?  (for those that don't understand you can't get too much time in the work area when the rule states a minimum amount of time, and not a maximum----I was hoping we could rehash this again this year as well.........stay tuned)

"Just about everyone" I would disagree with. Everyone knows except for maybe a loud minority, that both series has some serious talent and experience.

And at the end of the season we all can still argue if it makes us feel better, about which series is better, and still will not have a clear answer.

What will be telling to me is what percentage of teams that started in each of their own series will finish the season, and also run season two, and three.

Season one finishers have incentive to finish in the top (5) b/c of the charter system, which I'm not sure we fully understand how much that'll benefit those teams. Season two, 2025, the top finishing teams not in the 1st years charter will round out (10) total charters, so there's incentive for at least ten teams to complete on a regular basis each season. But will teams after (10) stick around, and will the top (10) teams want to share the revenue with additional teams.

Lets say theres an one million dollars in revenue, lets call it "profit sharing" that the top ten drivers recieve. If there are 1 - 5 more teams consistently running the HL series and they want in, are the existing 10 charters willing to divide that "profit sharing" with 5 other teams or even one or two other teams.

I'm glad you pointed that out!  Most of us on Hoseheads are way too dumb to realize who Brad Sweet, Rico Abreu, Sunshine, and Brent Marks are.  I looked them up.  Turns out, you were 100% correct.  They are very good!   My apologies for not already knowing this.

This just in: Brad Sweet is good!  I'm shocked he won a race evwn though i read hes a 5 time champ.  (Is that true?) Don't take my word for it-----Strawser pointed it out before anyone knew he had a shot.   And this Rico guy----can't believe he ran up front a couple of times either.  Where's he from?   This Tyler Courtney fellow---has he ever won  a big Outlaw race before---say, a crown jewel?   These guys have come out of nowhere to compete against the Outlaws!  Striking!

This is America, we don't care about 'podiums'. We care about winning, money, trophies and glory. And also pit lizards.
