I tried to research this guy a bit but not much in the web to learn. I did see a picture with 6 cars in the shop so it would appear he is a bit more into it than a local weekend racer.

Anthony is only 22. The team has been updgrading their equipment every year. They got a better trailer last year. The funding seems to be there, and although they have ventured off the farm by going to Knoxville and West Virginia Motor Speedway (he won there in conviencing fashion last year) you will see him leaving the porch more this season starting next weekend at Bristol against the Outlaws.

He's done well everywhere in non-wing and has looked good so far with a wing(360 and 410). Who owns the 5G team now? Did Gallager's family keep it going or did Danner or someone else purchase the team?

heffner owns the team now i believe.

From his interviews, you can tell his confidence is growing, especially after "incident" with "good ole DD" ;)

7W, his own car that was so underfunded and underpowered that he wasn't even competitive at Port the last couple seasons before he got the Zemco ride. He's pretty decent everywhere except the Grove but he's definitely not the only driver that hates the clip. It would be great to see the 1Z race more but it is what it is. He has a day job too(airline pilot).

I heard from a Selisgrove track employee that they put in for 2 different all-star dates that coincided with the Port/WG swing and were shot down because Steve has a say over what tracks get those dates. He was OK with Bloomsburg but not Selinsgrove. Not sure why because Sunday wasn't listed as a raindate for Port or anything. I love Port and appreciate the great job they've done there the last 5 years or so but it kind of irritates me how they "work" with other tracks. Going for the jugular with Selinsgrove I guess. Adding the Australian pursuit and extra cash for the LM's last Saturday - same night ULMS was scheduled to be at Selinsgrove surely wasn't a coincidence either. It's no secret Selinsgrove is in trouble and would probably be dark already if it wasn't for Heffner. Oh well, still looking forward to tomorrow night's show. Hope they don't overwater it!

This list is on point. Macri hasn't proven much on the road, Marks can literally win anywhere. Peck is probably better on the Central PA tracks than he is anywhere. Sunshine and Marks are top 10 in the country.

It's hard to rank local drivers against the travellers. Macri won twice last year in WV and made the A main at Knoxville, ran respectable in FL earlier this season. Bloomsburg and Bridgeport are pretty neutral tracks as well. He is right there with Marks, Sunshine, Peck, DD IMO. Much improved at the 2 PA tracks he's struggled also - WG and Lincoln.

I have wondered why Selinsgrove has not been able to get an All Star sanction, especially for their year end Jim Nace National Open race. It is refreshing listening to Blake Anderson announce a race. He is not afraid to mention other series or tracks. Case in point, he mentioned the race at Bridgeport several times throughout the broadcast last night. As a fan, I appreciated that. It is amazing how certain tracks or sanctioning bodies will never plug another nearby track or series. Probably the worst is on the DLM side. Have you ever watched or been to a LOLMS or WOOLMS race. Neither side will ever mention the other group as if the fans don't know about both. Kind of bad for the sport in my opinion, fans are not stupid. If you follow the sport you probably are a fan of both series and it can only help the sport overall if the tracks and sanctioning bodies work together.

Yeah 20G to win and now a 2 day show, you would think the All-Stars would want to be a part of that but they lost that date a couple years ago because Atomic offered them a 2 day show with more money for that weekend. Last year Lincoln and the all-stars decided to move the Dirt Classic up a week so now the Nace Memorial was pushed back to the same date as Eldora All-Stars/4-crown. I guess they'd rather tow back to OH and race for 6G rather than stay in central PA another week and race for 20G. IDK

Wow. I noticed that his name and sponsors were now on the car. Heffner has been such a great supporter of sprint car racing. I like to see Devon and Briggs do well just because of that. He's also part owner of Lincoln and lease holder at Selinsgrove.

I don't know the story but you seem to be contridicting your own theory as to why Selinsgrove lost their All Star dates.

Could the switch to Garrett engines be a significant contribution to Anthony’s early season success?

I didn't know he was running Charlie's engines. Charlie doesn't let just anyone run his engines, it is an exclusive deal, he is a super nice guy and as pleasant as the day is long.

I'm surprised as well.  Grouse mentioned it Fiday night at the Grove.

Macri ran Garrett Engines last year. I think the difference to the start of this year is pretty simple.....CONFIDENCE! He has been fun to watch so far this season.

Did not know that. Great that Charlie is contributing to the success of a local team.

I only saw 1 highlight but he seems to drive into tiny holes with confidence and it paid off big in the real I watched. Letting off and not putting your nose into holes will keep you slow and prevent you from advancing. But it may also prevent you from finishing. So far his judgements and risks have been advantageous.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
