I watched a good bit of it on DirtVision, but probably missed some things.   How many guys lost engines this weekend?   I know Reutzel lost one Friday and looks like he lost one today too.   Who else had issues?

Schuchart's car just died with 1 or 2 laps to go....

Don't know if it was the engine, but it pissed me off!

PS: Thanks for saying "engine" instead of "motor"! ;)

Nice to hear Schatz admit the Ford falls on its face. He didnt lose a step talent wise over the course of 16 months, TSR hosed him by shoving that program on him.

Please elaborate on the storyline. Did they go back to the chev so called.? What did he say?

Yep, motors are electrical and I've never seen the word "motor" used with "internal combustion" either!

Agree completely.   The fate of his domination of the sport was sealed when SHR went to Ford.

Post race interview he talked how the engine didnt have it. Said he wasnt an engineer to diagnose why. He seemed to have a differant tone in the interview... almost dejected. Gave an interesting answer when asked if he "had to overcompensate for the engine" in order to get results. He responded how at times he knows he'll be lucky to get a top 10 at certain tracks.

Not today it doesnt. He flat out said the engine felt like it was on 7 cylinders on the restarts. I get Ricky is gone and what he meant to the program, and I am sure what were seeing is partly because of that, but I believe its more attributed to the engine switch. Tonite was just the first time I heard him point blank say its an issue, theyre trying to get the bugs worked out and some nights he pulls into a track knowing he doesnt have a chance. Was a different side of him.

I mentioned on a seperate thread how I wouldn't have used the 15 for R and D and had a few scoffers. It just doesnt make sense to change the winning recipe until you know you have better ingredients.

Imo it would have made more sense to create a new team to test and let a proven champ go on with life as normal. It doesnt seem right to handicap a proven winner.

Not that BAPS is a "Horsepower Track"..... pretty much a bullring by Pa. standards

But still.....

Not impressed for even a second.   Not only is that track nothing like Bristol or Knoxville, but not having a wing on the car pretty much makes the engine a non-factor.

Strawser, you nailed it. Ricky hasn't been around on a regular basis. He has however had a hand in the development of the new Ford powerplant. I think it's been a combination of Ricky not being there and the new motor program with a new crew chief they are just struggling.

To be blunt about it, why can't Tony just go out and get the best crew chief money can buy?

I wonder if he ran out of gas.  When they showed him in the pits they were immediately checking the fuel tank

Well, who's the second best crew chief Tony could buy?
